About the Job:

The Manager, Commercial Engine Strategy & Data Intelligence supports the execution and continuous improvement of FMI’s Commercial Engine—the integrated workflows, data, and decision signals that enable effective commercial execution and customer engagement.

This role partners closely with Commercial, Product, and Operations stakeholders to operate, monitor, and improve core commercial workflows, ensure high‑quality data capture, and translate structured inputs into actionable insights. The Manager is responsible for driving day‑to‑day execution, identifying workflow and data issues, and implementing practical improvements that enhance efficiency, data reliability, and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Engine Execution & Workflow Support:
    • Support the execution of standardized commercial workflows across the end‑to‑end commercial lifecycle (targeting, engagement, conversion, retention)
    • Monitor workflow performance and adoption, identifying friction points and gaps impacting execution or customer experience
    • Implement defined process improvements and support change management to increase consistency and effectiveness
  • Data Integrity & Decision Support:
    • Ensure accurate, timely data capture within commercial systems (e.g., CRM) through disciplined processes and controls
    • Support pipeline visibility, performance reporting, and basic forecasting inputs to enable effective decision‑making
    • Partner with analytics colleagues to translate operational data and customer inputs into usable insights
  • Customer Experience & Voice‑of‑Customer Support:
    • Support the capture of structured voice‑of‑customer (VOC) inputs within commercial workflows
    • Help translate customer feedback and experiential data into actionable themes and opportunities
    • Partner with Business Operations and Insights teams to support initiatives that improve the end‑to‑end customer experience
  • Systems, Tools & Enablement:
    • Support the maintenance and enhancement of commercial dashboards, tools, and reporting views
    • Ensure stakeholders have access to clear, reliable information to support prioritization and execution
    • Assist in testing and rollout of system enhancements and workflow improvements
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner closely with Commercial, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Technology teams to support aligned execution
    • Participate in issue resolution, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts
    • Contribute to a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and customer‑centric thinking

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or a related discipline
  • 4–6+ years of experience in commercial operations, business operations, sales operations, insights, or enablement
  • Experience working with CRM systems, workflows, and performance data

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to translate data and process observations into practical improvements
  • Experience in diagnostics, biopharma, or healthcare
  • Familiarity with voice‑of‑customer programs or customer experience initiatives
  • Experience working cross‑functionally in a matrixed environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacy

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Boston, MA is $103,440 - $129,300 per year. The salary range is commensurate with Foundation Medicine’s compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for Foundation Medicine's benefits.
