Job Summary:

As a Machine Learning Ops Engineer, you will support the deployment, monitoring, and optimization of machine learning models in production environments. You will assist in managing ML infrastructure, implementing automation pipelines, and ensuring models perform effectively. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with data scientists, engineers, and IT teams while gaining hands-on experience in ML operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Model Deployment and Management:

  • Assist in deploying machine learning models and ensuring they run smoothly in production.
  • Support automation of ML deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor model performance and help identify areas for optimization.
  • Help maintain versioning and basic testing of models under guidance.

2) Infrastructure and Tools:

  • Work with senior team members to manage ML infrastructure such as data pipelines and model serving environments.
  • Assist in configuring and maintaining ML tools that support deployment and monitoring.
  • Ensure the infrastructure is well-documented and supports efficient model training.

3) Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and IT teams to integrate ML models into production.
  • Support cross-functional teams by gathering requirements and providing technical assistance.
  • Help document workflows and best practices for ML Ops processes.

4) Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Assist in setting up monitoring tools to track ML model performance.
  • Work on troubleshooting minor production issues related to ML models and pipelines.
  • Learn optimization techniques to improve model efficiency over time.

5) Security and Compliance:

  • Follow data privacy and security best practices in ML operations.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance documentation and standard procedures.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2-3 years of experience in machine learning, data engineering, or ML Ops.

Technical Expertise:

  • Good understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms
  • Worked on model management and retraining lifecycle
  • Strong programming skills with Python and PySpark (preferred)
  • Good knowledge of data processing and ETL pipelines
  • Basic experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and practices
  • Good understanding in monitoring tools and performance optimization techniques
  • Experience with engineering and development collaboration tool such as GIT/Jira/Confluence
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies

Soft Skills:

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced ML Ops environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and evolving project needs.

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $77,500.00.
