ITTConnect is seeking a Linux Engineer to work remotely from anywhere in Brazil for a client in the US.
MUST BE fluent in English.
As a Linux Engineer you will be responsible for administering, supporting, and maintaining Linux-based systems across a variety of customer environments. This role requires strong hands-on experience with Linux server administration, virtual machines, and core operating system services supporting production application workloads.
You will work collaboratively as part of an engineering team while also operating independently in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Success in this role requires strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering stable and performant Linux infrastructure.
Requirements
- 10+ years of IT experience.
- MUST BE fluent in English.
- Demonstrated experience working as a Linux system administrator in an MSP, enterprise IT, or similar production environment.
- Strong hands-on experience installing, configuring, and managing Linux servers and virtual machines.
- Proficiency administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot Linux operating system and network performance issues supporting application servers.
- Solid understanding of Linux system services, processes, permissions, and package management.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving issues related to CPU, memory, disk, and network utilization.
- Scripting capability using Bash and/or other scripting languages for automation and operational tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess issues and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
Preferred
- Experience supporting Linux systems running on virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, and cloud based platforms (AWS, Google Compute, Azure).
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools used in Linux environments.
- Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Exposure to configuration management or automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Experience supporting Linux-based application stacks in production environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
