The Position

The Co-Op will be joining the Legal & Compliance Private Investments Legal Team, supporting private equity and private credit investment products.  The Co-Op will contribute to both ongoing initiatives and new short-term projects, regulatory developments, corporate governance, and counterparty documentation related to private equity and credit transactions. As part of a group of legal services professionals, the Co-op will work with a variety of other internal and external professionals, including Investment Management, Operations, and Investment Administration in providing support throughout fund an deal lifecycles 

 

Responsibilities  

We are seeking one Co-op for this role; they will be assigned to both shared responsibilities with other Legal Co-Ops, as well as individual responsibilities unique to the Co-op’s specific focuses and strengths. Individual responsibilities span the spectrum of exposure to legal/regulatory services or financial services. Responsibilities include, most recently: 

  • Deal and Fund Document Review, Production and Research  

  • Database Population & Document Management 

  • Gap Analysis 

  • Record Retention  

  • Signature Coordination  

  • Legal & Regulatory Research 

 

Qualifications

Working in this role requires a high degree of organizational and problem solving skills given the project nature of the role.  The individual must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with an ability to prioritize ongoing and time sensitive goals. A successful candidate for this role will possess a high degree of professionalism and have enthusiasm, an eagerness to learn, interest in financial markets, and a sense of humor. 

 

 Strong academic credentials are required.  A legal or financial services focus is preferred.  Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Only Northeastern University students are eligible for this program.

Please note: This co-op position entails cross-training to ensure optimal performance across functions. The anticipated start date for accepted candidates is December 2026/January 2027

Our approach to compensation considers all aspects of total compensation; all employees are eligible to receive salary, variable compensation, and benefits. The base salary range for this position is:

$19-$35 per hour

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.   

 

Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
