TEAM OVERVIEW
KKR’s Human Capital Benefits & Wellness team is responsible for implementing and enhancing the benefits programs and healthcare services for all KKR employees. The team analyzes workflows and technology solutions to align with the firm’s culture and value while providing optimal experiences. The team is also involved in every employees’ journey at KKR, from onboarding to off-boarding, travel and transfers, and even personal and professional milestones including work anniversaries. The Benefits and Wellness team strives to improve the employee experiences by collecting engagement surveys to continuously gather feedback and create innovative solutions.
POSITION SUMMARY
KKR’s Global Benefits function is looking for an experienced Leaves Administrator to help manage KKR’s leaves process as well as assist with employee benefits operations, including healthcare, retirement, work-life, and wellness policies/programs for the Americas. Based in Boston and reporting into the Head of Americas Benefits, this role will be dedicated to supporting employees in the U.S., Bermuda, and Canada. This individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day leave of absence operations and aspects of benefits/wellness programming as part of a matrixed team where individual responsibilities may shift to meet agile demands.
The Leaves Administrator will help drive initiatives to enhance KKR’s employee leaves experience, achieve greater efficiencies in vendor service delivery and optimize KKR employees’ understanding and utilization of leaves and overall benefit plans.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with leaves of absence and the disability/accommodations process in compliance with state and federal laws and firm policies.
- Partner with key leaves of absence stakeholders to deliver a streamlined leaves experience (e.g., employees, leaves administrator, HC Business Partners, Employee Relations, legal counsel, etc.).
- Help manage day to day benefits operations including but not limited to the employee life cycle (i.e., onboarding/new hire orientation, transfers, terminations), benefits invoicing/billing, HRIS/Workday and SharePoint maintenance related to benefits, and respond to daily employee inquiries.
- Provide additional support in helping to manage Americas Benefits vendor and broker relationships as well as the annual US Open Enrollment cycle.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of effective marketing strategies, communication materials and policy documents for Americas benefits and wellness programs
- Enhance the benefits governance framework and drive operational efficiencies.
- Maintain and develop a strong technical understanding of the Americas benefits market across a broad range of plan designs.
- Partner with Finance/Payroll teams to analyze, reconcile, and identify risks and opportunities to drive effective budgeting and business planning for both short and long-term benefits needs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as managing the 5500 filing process, 1095 reporting, non-discrimination testing and related compliance deliverables.
- Help manage relationships with service providers in the benefits ecosystem by following KKR’s vendor onboarding process, coordinating the contracting process and performing ongoing management and evaluation of our relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, Human Capital or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience working in a dynamic, matrixed, fast-paced, and pressurized environment
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
- Commitment to confidentiality and experience interacting with employees’ complex private medical and financial matters; HIPAA training to be completed upon hire
- At least three years of recent professional experience with U.S. leaves administration as well as employee benefits and wellness plan development and delivery
- Proven track record in health/wellness and work-life programs
- Experience in retirement plans from an implementation and governance standpoint
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS
- 5+ years of leaves administration and progressive benefits/wellness experience for plans in the U.S.
- Meaningful knowledge of Americas benefits plan design including healthcare, work-life (i.e., family building and support) and retirement plans along with plan administration, associated payroll processes, regulatory requirements and benefits program taxability
- Exceptional project management skills with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines with follow through and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization
- Strong sense of accountability and sound personal judgment, including an understanding of competitor offerings and the general marketplace with the ability to use data to influence key stakeholders
- Successful record of handling employee benefits inquiries, building efficient operational processes, and demonstrating influence with key internal stakeholders
- Proven ability in vendor/broker/consultant relationship management and establishing effective partnerships with external service providers to ensure quality service, including but not limited to working with HRIS systems such as Workday

This is the expected annual base salary range for this Boston-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
