Position Summary

Electroswitch is seeking a Junior Product Engineer to support our engineered electrical products and serve as a technical resource for customers, Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who wants to build practical experience in electrical and mechanical product applications.

The Junior Product Engineer will learn Electroswitch’s products and their technical applications, evaluate customer requirements, prepare technical documentation and standard operating procedures, and help resolve product and manufacturing issues. The successful candidate must be able to absorb technical information, communicate clearly, and translate customer needs into practical product solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of Electroswitch products, applications, and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical product and application support to customers and the Sales team.
  • Communicate directly with customers to understand their requirements, operating conditions, and desired outcomes.
  • Review customer drawings, wiring requirements, specifications, and application information to determine product suitability and compliance.
  • Assist with the selection, configuration, troubleshooting, and application of electrical and electromechanical products.
  • Support products used in electrical power systems and other high-power applications.
  • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, technical reports, product documentation, and other engineering materials.
  • Prepare product drawings, component drawings, bills of material, routings, and engineering changes.
  • Support product modifications and custom configurations based on customer requirements.
  • Work with Manufacturing, Quality, Materials, the Machine Shop, and other departments to resolve product, production, procurement, testing, and scheduling issues.
  • Assist with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting involving existing products.
  • Recommend improvements to product designs, processes, procedures, quality, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and product improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical training or product information to employees and customers as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
 QualificationsQualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Recent graduates and candidates with relevant internship, co-op, academic project, or entry-level engineering experience are encouraged to apply.
  • An associate degree in a related engineering technology discipline combined with relevant hands-on experience may also be considered.
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications, and related engineering documentation.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including the ability to create clear procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Strong verbal communication, listening, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to understand a customer’s objectives and translate them into technical product requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn detailed product and application information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship, co-op, academic, or professional experience in manufacturing, electrical products, or industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical power systems, three-phase power, industrial controls, switchgear, or high-power wiring applications.
  • Experience in the electric utility or power industry.
  • Familiarity with Solidworks, other 3D CAD, AutoCAD, other 2D CAD, ERP systems, or SyteLine.
  • Familiarity with UL, CSA, ISO, or other applicable industry standards.
  • Experience preparing SOPs, work instructions, or other controlled technical documentation.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and enter production areas.
  • Occasional travel to customer or company locations may be required.
