The analyst/associate PM will work for Japan equity team with a primary goal to contribute to the performance of Japan equity portfolios. Each member in Japan Team works as generalists. The person seeks to identify attractively valued quality business opportunities in Japan based primarily on the bottom-up analysis. To accomplish our goal to generate economically meaningful levels of consistent outperformance, the analyst becomes an expert in particular areas/industries to make buy/sell recommendations to senior portfolio managers. Please note Boston is the preferred location but the ability to work onsite at any Columbia Threadneedle office will be considered.

Summary:

  • Job: Japan dedicated equity analyst/associate portfolio manager
  • Experience: minimum 10 years of investment experience covering Japan equities in a buy-side or sell-side
  • Location: Boston

Principal responsibilities:

  • Conduct due diligence on Japanese companies and their industries
  • Create and maintain financial models to estimate an intrinsic value of a company
  • Make recommendations to PMs and other team members with unique insights
  • Work as generalist covering Japanese companies in a dynamic manner
  • Work seemingly with colleagues globally

Qualifications:

  • Qualification: BA/BS and CMA (Japanese CFA)/CFA
  • Requirement: Strong writing and speaking capability in English and a native level of Japanese language skill is required
  • Other: a performance track record over the last 5 years
