WHOOP is hiring an iOS Engineer II to join one of our high-impact product teams: AI Experiences or Growth. You’ll work on features that scale our systems and improve reliability, remove friction from user experiences, or help members improve their physical, emotional, and hormonal health through clinical-grade insights. Whether building shared frameworks, iterating on growth experiments, or shipping health-driven features, you'll deliver work that directly impacts our members' lives. You’ll collaborate across functions, write well-architected code, and contribute to a platform that is improving health outcomes and unlocking human potential at scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work on a cross-functional team that collaborates with data science, product, and backend engineering.
- Develop and maintain native iOS product features in Swift and integrate with RESTful backend services.
- Contribute to feature ideation, planning, design, and development.
- Document architecture and new features to support long-term maintainability.
- Analyze metrics and member feedback to uncover bugs and opportunities to improve app stability and engagement.
- Participate in the release pipeline, including app building, signing, testing (e.g., via Firebase), and App Store submission.
- Use tools like Jira, Confluence, and GitHub to organize and communicate work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Product-minded engineer with empathy for the member experience.
- 2–4 years of professional experience building, testing, debugging, and shipping native iOS apps.
- Strong proficiency in Swift and experience with modern iOS architecture and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and networking best practices.
- Knowledge of best-practice architecture and modular design patterns, such as MVVM.
- Experience using Git and version control workflows.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
- Team player who thrives on continuous learning and direct feedback.
- Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

This role is based in the WHOOP office located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate must be prepared to relocate if necessary to work out of the Boston, MA office.

At WHOOP, we view total compensation as the combination of base salary, equity, and benefits, with equity serving as a key differentiator that aligns our employees with the long-term success of the company and allows every member of our corporate team to own part of WHOOP and share in the company’s long-term growth and success.
The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$170,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each range, individual pay is based on factors such as job-related skills, experience, performance, and relevant education or training.
In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will also receive benefits and a generous equity package.
These ranges may be modified in the future to reflect evolving market conditions and organizational needs. While most offers will typically fall toward the starting point of the range, total compensation will depend on the candidate’s specific qualifications, expertise, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
