All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.
Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.
OverviewJerseySTEM has exciting unpaid associate opportunities for individuals interested in 20 hour/week commitment for at least one month, renewable indefinitely. The associate will be responsible for projects relevant to the JerseySTEM mission to deliver after school enrichment classes to underserved kids.

ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with team members on department-specific projects
Attend scheduled work sessions and maintain regular communication with your assigned manager
Submit brief written updates on your work daily
Participate in JerseySTEM's communication systems (Slack, G-Suite, etc.)
Maintain a professional demeanor in all associates and external interactions
Notify department head or HR if you encounter any issues connecting with your manager
Time Commitment
- 20 hours/week minimum, for at least 1 month (renewable monthly)
- Standard work shift is 3pm-6pm Monday-Friday and an additional up to 5 hours of ad-hoc meetings during the week.
