Your purpose: 

Reporting to the VP of People Strategy & Operations, we’re seeking an experienced Boston-based Director/VP of Talent Acquisition to help build out a robust and dynamic recruiting function for our fast-growing startup and provide leadership to current recruiters while continuing to build a talent acquisition team to scale the company. The Director/VP of Talent Acquisition will be responsible for utilizing their experience scaling startups to help develop sourcing strategies, craft employer branding, partner cross-functionally to train hiring managers on interview best practices, build processes to assess candidates, and track metrics to make data-driven decisions. The Director/VP of Talent Acquisition will ensure Paperless Parts provides an excellent candidate experience while meeting business goals, building a strong talent pipeline, filling vacancies from entry to executive level, and supporting future hiring needs. This position requires activities that are subject to US Export Control Laws and require US Citizenship or Green Card Holder.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute recruitment strategies to attract, evaluate, and hire top talent.
  • Identify, hire, and manage a recruiting team.
  • Develop key hiring processes like role intake, interview creation, inclusive job description writing
  • Identify and plan interview and assessment training for hiring managers and other leaders to ensure recruiting best practices from the entire organization
  • Create the process to provide the most outstanding candidate experience from the first point of contact through onboarding.
  • Partner with VP, People to identify opportunities for efficiencies within the recruiting function
  • Partner with VP, People and Marketing to build a meaningful and genuine employer brand that tells our story and culture to attract talent 
  • Promote strong DEIB recruitment strategies to attract diverse candidates and implement recruiting practices that reflect Paperless Parts core values to create positive candidate experiences
  • Evaluate current Applicant Tracking System and drive adoption by building upon features and tools or identify another solution 
  • Identify and create a strategic plan for university partnerships and recruiting 
  • Partner with the administrative People team to help strengthen and develop best practices and cohesion between recruiting function and People admin.
  • Develop methods to better forecast hiring needs and identify key recruiting metrics to measure effectiveness and provide data-driven actionable insights, and a weekly pipeline report to stakeholders
  • Act as an advisor to stakeholders and partners on market trends, recruiting metrics, operational processes, systems, tools, and programs
  • Maintain annual recruiting budget
  • As part of the Paperless Parts team, further, the company-wide DEI & social impact initiates
  • Travel to job shops as required, COVID-19 vaccination required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Extensive talent acquisition experience including building and deploying talent acquisition strategies in a hyper-growth startup environment, ideally within the tech space
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high performing local and remote teams
  • Experience in developing full-cycle recruiting, sourcing, and employment branding.
  • Ability to inspire trust and open partnerships with peers and stakeholders across the business
  • Date-driven and strong problem-solving mindset, and the ability to see themes within data
  • Highly adaptable with the proven ability to drive results in an ever-changing environment and comfort in operating “in the gray” when necessary
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized with excellent follow-through and delivery.
  • Success building and leading a team.
  • Proven success recruiting roles across an organization
  • Knowledge of how to manage technical recruiters and build a college recruiting program
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (currently use Jazz HR)
