About Teal
Teal Communications, Inc. (“Teal”) is a high-growth technology company that builds cloud-native network infrastructure to connect Physical AI & IoT devices to data networks globally. Teal has been recognized by Inc. 5000 and Deloitte's Fast 500 as one of the fastest growing private companies in the United States (#1 in Seattle-Metro and #9 Software Company in the United States).
The Role
TEAL is looking for a hands-on and experienced HR professional to lead HR operations and full-cycle recruiting. You'll report to members of the Executive team and partner closely with company founders on organizational design, leadership, manager development, and talent acquisition. You'll lead TEAL's internal and external recruiting efforts, owning sourcing, candidate experience, interviewing, and hiring as we scale.
This is a broad, high-visibility mandate for one person. You should be comfortable moving fluidly between strategic HR partnership and the day-to-day mechanics of filling roles.
What You’ll Do
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
  • Own full-cycle recruitment: build and manage the hiring plan, and coordinate with external recruiting firms where needed.
  • Proactively source quality candidates using job boards, social media, and professional networks.
  • Screen resumes and applications, and conduct interviews to assess candidates' knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Guide hiring managers and stakeholders through the interview process, from role scoping to offer.

HR Operations & Employee Relations
  • Develop and oversee new hire orientation, onboarding, and the offboarding/termination process.
  • Administer employee benefits programs.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for managers and employees on HR matters; coach and support managers in a way consistent with TEAL's values.
  • Support managers through conversations on career growth, performance management, compensation, and equity.
  • Evaluate and implement new HR and recruiting software, including but not limited to payroll platforms, Applicant Tracking System (ATS), HRIS/HCM platform, onboarding software, performance management tools, Learning management system (LMS), and compensation benchmarking tools.

Strategic HR Partnership & Compliance
  • Participate in leadership meetings to diagnose and solve talent and organizational problems.
  • Create and drive development, employee relations, retention, and reward programs.
  • Review HR programs and policies for compliance with employment laws and best practices and recommend changes as needed.
What We're Looking For
  • 5-8+ years of experience as an HR Specialist, Generalist, Recruiter, and/or Business Partner, ideally at a startup or other fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Hands-on experience recruiting talent and managing a high-growth hiring plan.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including frequent collaboration with Legal, Finance, and department leaders.
  • A track record of developing, implementing, and managing people policies, processes, software, tools, and programs that create a positive employee experience.
What Success Looks Like
  • A collaborative, thoughtful HR leader who sees the big picture but is excited about rolling up your sleeves and building upon Teal's HR and recruiting foundation.
  • Proven ability to build trust and influence at the executive level.
  • Good judgment and the ability to balance the needs of the company, managers, and employees.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to distill data into clear insight and action.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with a small HR and recruiting team.
  • A bias toward continuous improvement in people strategy and process.
Compensation
TEAL offers competitive salaries, comprehensive health benefits and equity packages.
  • Base salary: $120,000 - $150,000 annually
  • Equity participation and comprehensive benefits
  • Actual compensation will depend on experience, relevant carrier relationships, skills and other job-related factors.
Location: Kirkland, Washington. We expect this role to work closely with the team from our Kirkland headquarters.
