At Griffin Greenhouse Supplies, we’re looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team and support all facets of the employee experience. This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who is comfortable balancing full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, compliance, benefits, payroll, and day-to-day HR operations.
While we’re seeking someone with broad HR expertise, we have a particular interest in candidates with strong, hands-on experience managing self-funded benefit plans and payroll. Experience with Paycom is highly preferred.

Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers, providing guidance and support across all areas of human resources.

Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, background checks, offers, and onboarding.

Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop effective recruiting strategies, and attract high-quality candidates.

Coordinate new hire onboarding and employee offboarding, ensuring a positive and consistent experience.

Administer employee benefit programs and serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees regarding benefit eligibility, enrollment, plan provisions, and questions.

Provide hands-on administration and support for self-funded health benefit plans, including vendor relationships, claims-related questions, plan administration, reporting, employee communications, and issue resolution.

Partner with benefits brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and other vendors to ensure effective administration of benefit programs.

Support benefit plan renewals, annual enrollment, employee education, audits, and ongoing plan analysis.

Manage and support payroll processing, ensuring employee information, deductions, earnings, timekeeping, benefit elections, and other payroll data are accurate and processed timely.

Utilize the HRIS/payroll system to maintain employee records, process employee changes, run reports, and support HR and payroll administration. Paycom experience is strongly preferred.

Support employee relations by providing guidance to employees and managers, addressing workplace concerns, and escalating complex matters when appropriate.

Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other applicable leaves.

Support performance management processes, including performance reviews, coaching, documentation, and manager guidance.

Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records and ensure HR documentation is complete and up to date.

Assist with the development, communication, and administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs.

Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Assist with HR reporting, audits, compliance requirements, and workforce data analysis.

Support employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and other activities that contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Stay current on HR, payroll, benefits, and employment-law trends and recommend improvements to policies, programs, and processes.

Support special HR projects and other responsibilities as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

4-6 years of progressive, well-rounded HR Generalist experience.

Demonstrated experience across multiple HR functions, including full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, benefits, payroll, compliance, and HR administration.

Strong hands-on experience administering self-funded benefit plans is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of self-funded health plans, including claims, plan administration, vendor relationships, employee support, reporting, and renewals.

Hands-on payroll experience required.

Experience with Paycom is strongly preferred.

Experience working with an HRIS and maintaining accurate and confidential employee data.

Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.

Strong recruiting experience with the ability to manage the full recruitment lifecycle from requisition through onboarding.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with employees and managers at all levels.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion.

Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.

The salary for this role will be determined based on various factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 and may be adjusted in the future. In addition, this position is eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health, disability, life, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
