This role ensures alignment with organizational priorities while meeting the unique operational and market needs of the POD/Zone. The VP of Business Development drives growth strategies that enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency, positioning the POD/Zone for strong and sustainable performance. This role also acts as a key collaborative partner to Operations, Clinical, HR, and cross-functional teams to support enterprise initiatives and ensure integrated performance across the POD/Zone.

- Develops and leads the POD/Zone growth strategy, partnering with healthcare providers to support a seamless continuum of care and identify new growth pathways
- Establishes and manages business development performance goals for the POD/Zone, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and accountability across the area
- Leads, develops, and mentors the territory business development team by ensuring they receive the appropriate training, resources, and coaching to drive physician, facility, and referral-source growth, while building a strong future talent pipeline
- Partners closely with Agency Operations leadership to ensure coordinated execution of growth and operational plans, fostering strong, trust-based relationships that drive performance
- Develops and executes a comprehensive POD/Zone business development plan that identifies high-value opportunities, drives continuous improvement, and integrates competitive and market intelligence
- Sets clear, measurable goals for business development team members to ensure alignment with both the overall organizational strategy and operational expectations
- Provides strategic coaching and oversight to business development team members, holding them accountable for achieving growth, operational, and performance outcomes
- Achieves or exceeds annual margin and net revenue targets for the POD/Zone, ensuring disciplined financial management and sustainable performance
- Partners with zone leadership and senior management to support financial, operational, and strategic planning activities, including the annual budgeting process
- Ensures active business development team member engagement in quality, compliance, and performance improvement initiatives
- Oversees budget performance and forecasting for all agencies within the POD/Zone, ensuring financial integrity and timely course-correction
- Collaborates with Business Development Leadership to evaluate and implement new opportunities that support POD/Zone and enterprise-wide growth
- Partners with HR on hiring, talent reviews, performance actions, and employee relations matters
- Conducts regular visits with agencies and business development team members across the POD/Zone, identifying growth opportunities, addressing emerging trends, and proactively mitigating risks
- Ensures full compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and regulations, including hospice, Medicare, and Medicaid requirements within the POD/Zone
- Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of healthcare sales experience
- 3+ years of healthcare sales management experience
- Working knowledge of regulations and reimbursement in hospice/home health care
- Demonstrated expertise in personnel management, leadership, and financial management
- Proven solid critical-thinking skills in developing and executing strategic direction
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive results through proactive transformation
- Proven solid communication skills that support collaborative and strategic relationships
- Demonstrates transformational leadership that builds trust and motivates, engages, and inspires teams
- Proven ability to act strategically, integrate initiatives with broader organizational priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-range plans

- Bachelor's degree in business, a health profession, or a related field
- Licensed Registered Nurse
