The Role

At Kyndryl, you will be at the forefront of shaping our global brand strategy. As the Global Brand Strategy and Messaging Director, you will lead a dynamic team within the Brand & Activation group, driving a unified brand strategy that resonates across the globe. Your role is pivotal in ensuring our brand messaging and positioning are consistent and adaptable, collaborating with regional teams to fuel global brand growth and evolution. You will be instrumental in achieving our strategic objectives through innovative marketing campaigns, solution development, and comprehensive brand research and measurement.

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

Strategic Brand Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global brand strategy aligned with company goals, considering market trends and customer insights across different regions. 
  • Define brand positioning, key messaging, and brand identity guidelines to ensure consistency across all markets.  This Includes the Kyndryl Employer brand and related efforts. Oversee the annual brand planning process, setting key performance indicators (KPIs) and budget allocations. 

Brand Governance and Monitoring:  

  • Oversee the governance of brand and branded properties, to ensure consistency and compliance with brand standards. 
  • Provide strategic brand counsel to guide decision-making for marketing and communications campaigns and activations, informing project brief development and creative concepting. 
  • Ensure consistency of brand voice, tone, and style across all channels and platforms. Work with VP to build Brand Governance Management across key C-Suite. 

Brand Architecture and Portfolio Management: 

  • Define, manage, and scale the company's brand architecture strategy and related systems; oversee the Kyndryl’s brand architecture, including Employer brand, subsidiaries and brand IP. 
  • Oversee the creation and updating of brand entities, including naming and visual identities, ensuring appropriate application of existing systems. 
  • Maintain and evolve Brand and Voice standards for Kyndryl. 

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with regional marketing teams, solution marketing sales, and legal departments to ensure brand alignment across all functions and markets. 
  • Collaborate with regional teams to adapt global brand strategies to local market needs and customer preferences. 
  • Facilitate communication and information sharing between global and regional teams to ensure smooth execution of marketing initiatives. 

Brand Messaging:

  • Own the evolution, management, and core of the Kyndryl’s brand platform, core identity, tone of voice, and related guidelines. Develop strategic messaging and positioning to aid in creative development and amplification efforts. Oversee the creation of marketing materials, ensuring brand consistency and cultural sensitivity. 

Brand Reputation Management & Analysis:

  • Monitor and assess brand health, equity, and perception; use market intelligence to inform, adapt, and refine brand strategies. 
  • Maintain expertise in key audience personas to inform brand strategy and activation efforts. Keep a pulse on key market trends and insights, elevating new opportunities for the Kyndryl brand differentiation. 
  • Analyze market data to inform brand strategy and identify areas for improvement 

Team Leadership and Development

  • Manage and mentor reports, overseeing their performance, growth, and development. 
  • Define team objectives, strategy, and priorities, ensuring effective capacity and resource planning. 
  • Develop and refine methodologies for executing brand strategy initiatives, identifying and implementing process improvements.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of brand management experience in a B2B setting
  • Experience developing and/or managing brand architecture and naming systems, as well as brand platforms and core identities.  
  • Proven expertise in developing compelling messaging and strategic positioning. 
  • Experience developing and rolling out cross-organizational strategies for brand implementation, management, and governance.
  • Excellent communicator, and collaborator
  • Analytical skills to interpret market data and identify trends
  • Solid Microsoft PowerPoint & Excel skills
  • Proficiency in project management and budgeting

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience working for agency and/or tech organizations

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $167,760 to $318,840 based on a full-time schedule. 

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience.  For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.    

                          

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:              

                

California: $184,560 to $382,680                   

Colorado:  $167,760 to $318,840                   

New York City: $201,360 to $382,680                   

Washington: $184,560 to $350,760                   

Washington DC: $184,560 to $350,760                   

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off.  Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
