We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Claim Technical Manager. Reporting to the Technical Claims Leader, this individual is responsible for working as an advocate for HUB’s clients and is a highly skilled insurance professional who resolves complex, high exposure claims and acts as a technical resource for others within an organization, often handling specialized professional liability, construction, or other niche claims while possessing authority for decision-making, negotiation, and settlement. This individual MUST have strong property claims experience. Responsibilities include work related to assigned specific Vertical specialty teams based on training, background, and expertise.  Serve as a resource for the other members of the HUB New England Claim staff and all other employees.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as the primary technical resource for the organization, providing guidance on complex claims to less experienced staff and managers.
  • Investigates, negotiates, and settles high-complexity and high-exposure claims, often in specialized areas like professional liability, architects and engineers, or commercial casualty.
  • Reviews and analyzes insurance policies and supporting documents to confirm coverage and communicate the coverage position.
  • Conducts and directs investigations into loss facts and damages, assessing the insured's exposure.
  • Sets reserves or makes recommendations for reserve changes within the assigned authority.
  • Directly or indirectly negotiates and settles claims to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Represents the organization at external panels, industry forums, mediations, and conferences.
  • Prepares reports for senior leadership and participates in business meetings to discuss claims data and trends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Over 10 years of experience in a large insurance company handling complex claims.
  • Advanced knowledge in areas such as professional liability, construction, property or other niche industries.
  • Ability to analyze complex coverage issues, liability, and damages to determine exposure.
  • Experience in training and mentoring other claims specialists.
  • Effectively communicates with insureds, brokers, underwriters, and legal counsel.
  • Works autonomously and holds significant responsibility for decision-making within their authorized limits.

The expected pay range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and commissions for some positions.
