Director, Web Experience & Optimization - Hybrid – Lexington, MA or Remote – USA
We are looking for a transformational web leader to reimagine and rebuild our digital front door. As Director of Web Experience & Optimization, you will own the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of our corporate web presence—and lead a significant digital transformation initiative: migrating from a legacy, monolithic web platform to a modern, composable architecture that empowers marketers to move at the speed of business.
This is not a maintain‑and‑optimize role. We need a builder who can architect the future while managing the present—someone who sees AI and automation as essential tools for personalization, testing, and scale. You will democratize content creation, eliminate technical bottlenecks, and create a web experience engine that is fast, flexible, and fiercely focused on conversion.
The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, technologist, and operator. You are a trusted business partner who speaks the language of marketing, sales, and engineering with equal fluency. You thrive on reducing friction, challenging the status quo, and building teams that punch above their weight.
The Opportunity
Your signature initiative will be leading the end‑to‑end migration of our website from an antiquated, developer‑dependent platform to a modern, modular architecture (headless CMS, composable DXP, or similar). This transformation will unlock agility, enable self‑service content publishing for marketing teams, dramatically reduce time‑to‑market, and position our web presence for the next era of AI‑powered experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the full web platform transformation, from requirements and vendor evaluation to implementation, rollout, and ongoing optimization.
- Architect a modular, API‑first digital ecosystem that integrates seamlessly with our martech stack, including CRM, MAP, CDP, analytics, and personalization tools.
- Build intuitive no‑code/low‑code workflows that empower marketers to publish content, launch campaigns, and run experiments without developer support.
- Establish governance, design systems, and component libraries that balance consistency with speed and flexibility.
- Champion the use of AI—powering personalization, dynamic content, intelligent search/chat, testing automation, and accelerated content creation.
- Lead a robust experimentation and optimization program grounded in data, rapid iteration, and evidence‑based decision making.
- Partner with Demand Gen, Product Marketing, Brand, and Sales to translate business objectives into compelling, conversion‑driving web experiences.
- Proactively identify friction across the buyer journey and lead cross‑functional initiatives to remove it.
- Own web KPIs (traffic, engagement, conversions, technical performance, SEO/AEO) and establish reporting cadences that drive accountability across stakeholders.
- Build and develop a high‑performing Web Experience team, while managing agency/partner relationships to extend capacity and maintain quality.
What You'll Bring
- Deep experience in web strategy, digital experience, or martech leadership in B2B technology or SaaS environments.
- Proven success leading major website re‑platforming or digital transformation initiatives involving modern architectures.
- Expertise with headless CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Sanity, Strapi), composable DXPs, and JAMstack ecosystems.
- Hands‑on experience with AI‑powered personalization, testing platforms (Optimizely, VWO, LaunchDarkly), and analytics tools (GA4, Amplitude, Heap).
- Strong technical acumen and the ability to engage confidently with engineering teams on APIs, performance, CI/CD, and frontend frameworks.
- Exceptional project and stakeholder management skills, especially across multi‑team, multi‑dependency initiatives.
- A solution‑oriented mindset with a focus on eliminating friction and delivering measurable impact.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
- Bonus: Experience with AI content tools (e.g., Jasper, Writer), CRO experimentation portfolios, CDPs such as Segment or mParticle, and certifications in analytics or optimization platforms.
The base salary range for this position is $156,000−$234,000 plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations.
