The Director, Total Rewards position will be based in our Framingham office and will report to the VP, Total Rewards. This position will be responsible for leading, developing, designing and realizing the next generation of compensation and benefits that will help to meet our Associates where they are in life. This includes, health, wellness, retirement, benefits as well as bonus and incentives. In partnership with the VP, Total Rewards, this position will also help bring thought leadership around creating a Total Rewards perspective and approach that provides meaningful programs to Associates at all levels and locations. The Director will liaise with numerous key stakeholders internally including Associates, legal, finance, IT, communications, as well as forge strong relationships externally with our consultants and vendor partners to ensure a seamless realization of our plans.


Duties & Responsibilities:

· Plays a leading role in developing a company-wide Total Rewards approach that optimizes company investment in areas of meaning to Associates.

· Responsible for creating a compelling vision for our next generation of compensation and benefits that supports the business and talent strategy and ensures our programs align.

· Stays current with market competitive practices, cutting edge practices as well as formulates their own view on what is meaningful for Staples total rewards.

· Manages vendor relationships leveraging new technology and capabilities that align with our vision and roadmap. This includes our brokers, plan vendors, consultants and systems.

· Creates metrics of success and effectiveness for our programs and our vendors to uphold a high standard of quality, understanding and ROI.

· Participates in contract negotiations to secure best in class programs.

· Develops and manages the budget for benefits in partnership with finance.

· Supports the merger and acquisition efforts by being involved in due diligence to assess risk, ensure regulatory compliance, as well as developing an integration plan that minimizes identified risks and is compliant in all aspects while balancing the communication needs of Associates.

 

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field.

· 10+ years in total rewards, compensation, and benefits.

· 5+ years in a managerial capacity leading total rewards teams.

· Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local compensation and benefits laws.

· Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS and compensation analysis tools.

· Strategic Implementation: Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing total rewards strategies.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Advanced Education: Master's degree in Human Resources or MBA.

· Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP).

· Industry Experience: Experience within [specific industry, e.g., technology, healthcare].

· Global Experience: Experience managing international compensation and benefits programs.

· Proven Track Record: Success in leading total rewards initiatives that support business transformation and growth.
