  • Prioritize effort using emissions materiality, supplier influence, feasibility, cost, business criticality, and wider sustainability value.

Supplier Climate Transition & Engagement

  • Sponsor differentiated engagement for priority suppliers and executive dialogue with strategic emitters.
  • Approve climate transition roadmaps covering energy, process emissions, low-carbon logistics, carbon-related material choices, and emissions data quality.
  • For packaging, own packaging-related Scope 3 measurement and reduction outcomes; align with the Circularity Lead, who owns material selection, recycled content, circular design, and sustainable packaging innovation.

Climate Programs & Partnerships

  • Provide strategic oversight for SBTi, CDP Supply Chain, Energize, PCF, and sector initiatives.
  • Represent Takeda in PSCI, Energize, and other approved collaborations.
  • Assess partnership against climate priorities, evidence quality, scalability, and measurable outcomes.

  • Ensure alignment of baselines, methodologies, primary data, PCF approaches, allocation rules, and evidence with relevant internal standards.
  • Provide concise executive reporting on trajectory, impact, risks, dependencies, supplier performance, and corrective action.

Interface with Sustainable Sourcing

  • Align and coordinate climate requirements with the sustainable sourcing strategy and standards owned by the Circularity & Sustainable Sourcing Lead.
  • Agree sustainable sourcing capacity and sequencing jointly, while retaining final solid-line accountability for workload allocation.

People & Service Leadership

  • Set objectives, manage performance, allocate work, coach and develop the Managers, and assure quality and consistency.
  • Create a service culture focused on supplier action, verified climate outcomes, practical category support, and continuous improvement.
