The Opportunity

The Director of Salesforce & Business Applications is responsible for the strategic leadership, administration, governance, security, and optimization of Vitra Health's Salesforce platform and related business applications. This position serves as the primary business and technical owner of the Salesforce ecosystem, ensuring the platform effectively supports organizational operations, growth initiatives, compliance requirements, and business objectives.

The Director will establish the platform roadmap, oversee day-to-day system administration, manage internal and external resources, and partner with leadership across departments to deliver scalable technology solutions that support Vitra Health's mission and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Salesforce Platform Leadership

  • Serve as the primary owner and administrator of the Salesforce platform.
  • Develop and execute the Salesforce strategy and long-term roadmap.
  • Ensure platform stability, scalability, performance, and security.
  • Oversee system configuration, customization, automation, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Evaluate and implement Salesforce products and features that support organizational growth.

Business Partnership & Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with operational and departmental leaders to identify business needs and develop technology solutions.
  • Prioritize enhancement requests and manage competing business requirements.
  • Translate business objectives into scalable Salesforce solutions.
  • Provide recommendations regarding system improvements, process optimization, and automation opportunities.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Supervise Salesforce Help Desk/Support personnel.
  • Manage external consultants, developers, implementation partners, and contractors.
  • Establish goals, performance expectations, and accountability measures for assigned staff and vendors.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Governance & Data Management

  • Establish Salesforce governance standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain system documentation, workflows, and change management controls.
  • Monitor data quality and implement processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and metrics to support organizational decision-making.

Compliance & Security

  • Ensure Salesforce operations comply with all applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate user access controls, security settings, audit logs, and monitoring processes.
  • Partner with Compliance and Information Technology teams to support audits and risk assessments.
  • Safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI), Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and confidential business data.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises:

  • Salesforce Help Desk / Support Specialist

Indirectly manages:

  • Third-party Salesforce consultants
  • Contract developers
  • Technology vendors and implementation partners

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, training, performance management, coaching, and corrective action when necessary.

What we are looking for:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Certifications

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator required.
  • Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator preferred.
  • Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect certification strongly preferred.
  • Additional Salesforce certifications preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive Salesforce administration, development, architecture, and platform management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as the primary owner of a Salesforce environment.
  • Experience with Salesforce Health Cloud required.
  • Experience within healthcare, managed care, home healthcare, insurance, or another highly regulated industry preferred.
  • Experience managing technical staff, vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.
  • Proven ability to lead enterprise-wide CRM initiatives and strategic technology projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, administration, security, and governance.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compliance Requirements

  • Adhere to all Vitra Health policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations.
  • Complete all required compliance, privacy, and cybersecurity training.
  • Successfully pass all required background screening processes.
  • Protect the confidentiality of participant, employee, and organizational information.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and corrective action initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Foster a culture of customer service and commitment to quality care.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Vitra Health, reflecting our mission, vision, and values.
  • Demonstrate compassion and professionalism in supporting employees and the communities we serve.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Office-based work in a clean well-lit environment with fluctuating temperatures near others.
  • Client-facing field staff and community liaisons require frequent travel to client homes or community settings; ability to drive safely; work in client homes may involve varying temperatures, odors, allergens, pets, and other environmental factors.
  • Requires substantial periods of repetitive work utilizing a computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Requires lifting and carrying equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds; requires pushing and pulling equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds; requires walking and standing; requires frequent sitting more than 75% of the workday; requires the ability to negotiate stairs; requires visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate equipment.
