At WHOOP, we're on a mission to unlock human performance and healthspan. WHOOP empowers members to perform at a higher level through a deeper understanding of their bodies and daily lives.

We are seeking a Director, Healthcare Product Partnerships to lead the partnerships that shape what WHOOP measures, validates, and builds. This role will manage relationships with academic medical centers, research institutions, medical device and diagnostics companies, and digital health platforms, with the goal of expanding WHOOP's physiological signal set, generating clinical evidence, and deepening product integration across the healthcare ecosystem.

The ideal candidate combines fluency in research and collaboration opportunities, digital health product development, data sharing and privacy, and strong partnership and negotiation instincts. This role will work closely with leaders across Product, Data Science, Clinical & Medical Operations, Regulatory, and Legal to bring product and research partnerships from concept through execution, validation, and ongoing relationship management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute WHOOP's product and research partnerships strategy, identifying opportunities with academic medical centers, health systems, research institutions, third party vendors, medical device and diagnostics companies, and digital health platforms

  • Build and manage a pipeline of co-development and integration opportunities that expand WHOOP's physiological and clinical signal set in partnership with Product, Clinical and Data Science

  • Manage the research collaboration pipeline end-to-end — from partner identification through execution; in partnership with Performance Science and Clinical & Medical Affairs

  • Negotiate and structure research, data-sharing, and technology integration agreements, partnering with Legal and Regulatory to ensure alignment with HIPAA, Privacy/Security, and FDA compliance

  • Lead partnerships with EHR vendors and digital health platforms to enable data interoperability and product-level integrations that support clinical use cases

  • Evaluate potential licensing, co-development, or exclusivity arrangements with medical device and diagnostics companies, building business cases in partnership with Finance and Analytics

  • Establish frameworks to evaluate research and product partnership performance, including evidence generated, publications, and downstream product impact

  • Present product and research partnership pipeline, findings, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership

  • Manage ongoing partner relationships to ensure ongoing success with all contracted partners

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of experience in digital health product partnerships, medical device business development, or clinical research collaborations.

  • Experience managing research collaborations with academic medical centers, research institutions, or clinical investigators.

  • Experience managing, maintaining and optimizing partner relationships with clearly defined success criteria and recurring touch points and partner business reviews to ensure sustained success.

  • Experience negotiating technology integration, data-sharing, or licensing agreements with medical device, diagnostics, or digital health companies.

  • Ability to translate scientific and technical concepts into clear business cases for cross-functional and executive audiences.

  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity, balancing scientific rigor with commercial pragmatism.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MBA, or a clinical/scientific background) preferred but not required.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
