Job Title: Director of Business Development – PhotonicsLocation: Based remotely in the Western US with Bay Area, CA & Seattle, WA preferred

We are seeking a highly driven and technically proficient Director of Business Development – Photonics to lead strategic sales initiatives focused on Optical Transceivers and Silicon Photonics solutions. This role is critical in expanding our presence in the photonics market, especially within hyperscale data center customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex, consultative selling and a deep understanding of the photonics ecosystem. You’ll be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and managing high-level customer relationships with mostly new and some existing clients.

What can you expect to do?

  • Drive new business development and revenue generation within the Photonics market.

  • Lead strategic engagement with existing and prospective hyperscale customers (e.g., AWS, Google, Meta, Microsoft, Oracle, X, xAI).

  • Understand customer needs and propose high-value technical solutions centered around Optical Transceivers and Silicon Photonics.

  • Navigate complex sales cycles, often involving long lead times, multiple stakeholders, and solution-based selling.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, maintaining regular executive-level contact to ensure satisfaction and strengthen long-term partnerships.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify target accounts and execute plans to acquire and grow those relationships.

  • Continuously monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive activity within the Photonics and data center industries.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to promote our capabilities and solutions.

What is the experience needed to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of business development or sales experience in photonics-related industries.
  • 5+ years of experience selling into hyperscale data center customers.
  • Deep technical understanding of Optical Transceivers and Silicon Photonics solutions is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain C-level relationships and drive strategic customer engagement.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

The pay range for this role is $159,600 - $287,200. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity. The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: October 31, 2025.

As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive based on performance. In addition, Jabil offers benefits to enhance your health, wealth, and resilient self. These include medical, dental, and vision insurance plans; paid time off accruing at a rate of 3.07 hours during your first year of employment; 4 weeks of paid parental leave; in 2025, 11 company-paid holidays (9 fixed holidays and 2 optional floating holidays), subject to change yearly; 401(k) retirement plan; and employee stock purchase plan.
