SharkNinja is in the middle of a major transformation of our data landscape. We are moving from a patchwork of legacy systems built organically, to a well thought out architecture that will enable SharkNinja’s growth in 2022 and beyond! In this role you will need the ability to survey the existing landscape, make recommendations and then roll up your sleeves to put an action plan in place. The pace will be quick and the opportunities for improvement are plenty, but you will have an opportunity to have a profound impact on the business and our customers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Director of Data Architecture to develop a roadmap for the advancement of our cloud environments, (Snowflake, AWS, Ayla) on-premises (SQL) environment and back-end logic for key business applications
• Work with ETL, DBA, Solutions Architecture, and Infrastructure resources to define a scalable, fault tolerant, and near real-time set of data assets that will supply our business users with trustworthy and available data. Data concepts must be applied to make the flow of data as efficient as possible.
• Develop, publish, and enforce business processes and standards for connecting, transforming storing and governing data to be used by the IT organization and BI platform citizen developers
• Work with Compliance and the Security team to ensure we are adhering to our data retention standards and protecting Personally Identifiable Information
• Document and publish current state and future state data landscapes
• Participate in production support debugging and issue resolution efforts
• Support applications team by designing back-end connections, logic and storage for their applications
• Identify and correct technical debt caused from fast company growth
• Participate in enterprise application deployment programs including data migration, cleansing, MDM, and data mapping efforts
• Drive optimization efforts to improve performance and reliability
• Cooperate with stakeholders to capture user stories/requirements by assessing the current state of data connections, business logic, storage and sharing and comparing those elements to the desired end functionality
• Be a mentor to team members and a subject matter expert on all things SharkNinja data

Skills & Education

• 15+ years’ experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Solution Architecture or DBA role
• 5+ years’ experience architecting cloud based (AWS, Snowflake) and on-prem (SQL) data systems
• Expert proficiency in Data Warehouses, SQL, SSMS, SSIS and data mining/modeling tools
• Proficiency in source control tools (TFS preferred)
• Preferred proficiency in Oracle Data Architecture, Boomi, API connections, familiarity with connecting data to BI platforms (QlikView, Domo)
• Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of decisions
• Proficient at leading cross functional projects and delivering outcomes on time
• Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, last minute requests and quick turnarounds
• Strong detail orientation with proven ability to work quickly and accurately
• Willingness to challenge the way things have been done in the past
• Must thrive in a fluid and changing environment
• Must be a team player with strong communication skills
• Knowledge to get us from where we are to where we need to be, and the patience to help get us there because implementing new solutions and standards can take time.
• Bachelors Degree-Computer Science, IT or related field
