We are looking for a Controls Engineering Intern  to join our team in our Walled Lake, MI office. Candidates will work directly with the technical teams. Their role would be working mainly with the teams who develop building management software for large scale industrial clients. Initial jobs would involve software screen layouts and configuration. As the technical skillset of the candidate grows, they would be moved into more programming oriented tasks.

This is a position does not require the candidate to have previous experience in regards to the work they will be performing. The candidate will be trained in technologies and tools they need to complete their work. The candidate must be able to work well with a team and have an eagerness to learn. Candidates should have an eye for detail and be task oriented.

BASIC JOB DUTIES 

  • Work with an Engineering Mentor in the following capacities:
    • Design PLC Control schematics.
    • Configure PLC and HMI programs based on client requirements.
    • Test new panel builds prior to shipment.
    • Assist in commissioning of systems at client jobsites.
    • Assist Building Management System Engineers in developing database structures.

 

Additional Notes:

 

*Travel may be required, but this would be scheduled around any scholastic requirements. 
*Indoors and outdoors, part time typical office environment, part time remote site office and building construction environments, potentially hazardous. 

 

Required Education/Experience:

- Currently enrolled in a degree program at a college/university and 1 year of related experience is required. Experience gained through degree work can substitute for industry experience.   

 

Required Skills

*Must be computer literate.

 

*Have a good working knowledge or search engines, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.

 

*Ability to adhere to a project schedule

Pay Range:Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
