Contractor, Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable, Travel, & Expense

Your Impact at Lila

Lila Sciences is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable contractor to support the finance team during a critical period of high invoice volume. The contractor will ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, support month-end close, and help maintain strong vendor relations. The role will also manage the enforcement and approval of employee expense policy, process, and reimbursements.

What You'll Be Building

• Process incoming vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner (3-way match, coding to GL accounts, cost centers, departments).
• Communicate invoice exceptions and discrepancies with vendors and internal teams.
•  Maintain updated vendor records, tax documents, and W-9s; ensure accuracy of vendor master data.
• Respond to vendor inquiries promptly; communicate payment status and resolve issues.
• Assist with AP aging analysis and month-end close schedules; prepare supporting schedules for audits or internal reviews.
• Oversee travel and expense reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and proper documentation
• Oversee end-to-end T&E processing, exception handling, and reimbursements
• Review employee expense reports for reasonableness and consistency with firm policy, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Serve as primary point of contact for employee T&E inquiries and training

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced environment; preference for life sciences, biotech, or tech-enabled services.
• Strong working knowledge of AP processes, GL coding, and partial 3-way match. 
•  Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and bank processing (checks/ACH). • Experience with T&E platforms (e.g. Navan, Ramp, Expensify)
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
• Strong communication and vendor management skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
