As Director, Content Strategy, you’ll lead the development of audience-centered content approaches that support Humana’s brand and business priorities through engaging, story-driven experiences.
In a typical day, you may guide content strategy for integrated marketing initiatives, partner with creative and business leaders, review performance insights, align teams on messaging priorities, and identify impactful ways to connect with audiences in their daily lives through print, audio, and digital media platforms. You’ll help ensure content is clear, consistent, compliant, and useful for members, patients, caregivers, and communities.
The Director, Content Strategy leads the team responsible for defining Humana’s content agenda. This role translates business goals, audience needs, brand standards, and performance insights into content strategies that improve member understanding and engagement through a variety of channels. The Director partners with key stakeholders to guide content planning, governance, optimization, and measurement. This work helps Humana deliver clearer, more connected experiences by taking a top-down approach to audience engagement, meeting our customers where they are, and reaching them in meaningful ways through episodic print, audio, digital, and social media platforms.
Key Role Functions
Lead the content strategy team in translating business objectives, audience insights, and performance data into content frameworks, messaging, and editorial direction
Partner with stakeholders across the organization to deliver content that is useful, compliant, consistent, and measurable
Lead a team focused on developing impactful episodic print, audio, digital, and social media content that supports audience engagement and business priorities
Establish content governance, standards, and planning routines that improve quality, efficiency, and alignment across teams
Develop and coach content strategy talent, building capabilities that help Humana communicate with clarity and empathy.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
8+ years of experience in content strategy, content marketing, editorial strategy, digital strategy, brand strategy, or related marketing communications roles
3+ years of experience leading teams, managing direct reports, or directing cross-functional content programs
Experience developing episodic content for lifestyle publications, digital experiences, social media, or integrated campaigns
Demonstrated experience developing content strategies, messaging frameworks, editorial plans, or governance standards for multi-channel marketing programs
Experience using audience insights, performance data, or testing results to inform content decisions and improve outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading content strategy within a healthcare company, insurance company, or regulated industry
Experience with content management, workflow, approval, analytics, or personalization platforms such as AEM, Workfront, Aprimo, Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Journey Optimizer, Sprinklr, or similar tools
Experience presenting strategies, recommendations, and performance insights to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders

Periodic in-office work may be required to support collaboration, key meetings, and leadership engagement. Remote options will be considered based on role needs and candidate experience
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
