CNC Systems Engineer

Job Description SummaryDigital Machining Solutions team standardizes, delivers and maintains lean digital manufacturing tools and services for the GE Aerospace sites utilizing state-of-the-art technologies to increase capacity and quality, to avoid cost and to achieve on-time delivery. GE Aerospace shops are utilizing in-house developed CNC digital kits to perform the processes in physical world. Current GE Aerospace CNC portfolio is a mix of various machine and controller types. The “CNC Systems Engineer” will bridge between Digital Machining Solutions team and end-users in GE Aerospace shops and will focus on integration, control and performance optimization of CNC machines from a systems and automation perspective.Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Serve as technical expert for diagnosing and resolving complex CNC system issues
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC control systems including PLCs, HMIs and motion control interfaces
• Contribute to machine runoff standardization
• Support machine connectivity
• Collaborate with IT, maintenance, and manufacturing teams
• Creating “How to” documents
• Work in a highly dynamic, collaborative, and global team environment
• Coordinate several concurrent projects
• Approximately 10-25% travel

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC programming, applications, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Desired Experience:

• Minimum 7 years in CNC programming, applications, commissioning, and troubleshooting
• CNC commissioning
• Servo motor/control tuning of CNC drives (i.e. PI/PID controllers, low pass & notch filters etc.)
• Multi-axis CNC setup & calibration
• Developed procedural documentation
• Okuma OSP control experience
• Siemens 840DSL and SinumerikOne experience
• Familiarity with on-machine probing macros

The base pay range for this position is 98,300-163,800 Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.  This posting is expected to close on July 1, 2025.
