About this role:

As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will join our field team to deliver world-class technical solutions to customer and prospect business problems. In this role, you will be exposed to a wide range of use cases where Apache Airflow sits at the center of the solution.

The impacts you will make will enable customers to rapidly grow their businesses by adopting Astronomer products to meet their goals.

What you get to do:
  • Implement Astronomer’s software and services in the core of some of the world’s largest businesses and organizations.

  • Guide our largest and most complex customers in their Apache Airflow journeys

  • Act as the core interface between the Customer, Sales, and Product to ensure that the broader solution around the platform is solving pain points and bringing value to customers.

What you bring to the role:
  • Strong Kubernetes experience (GKE/EKS/AKS or OpenShift preferred)

  • Expertise in at least one programming language.

  • Good understanding of network complexities and architectures

  • Versatile Terminal and CLI user, this will be a hands-on role, frequently without access to a GUI

  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting distributed systems

  • Experience with complex SaaS infrastructure operating at scale

  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider API/tooling

  • Ability to read code

  • Work effectively with git

  • Cloud-native data architecture experience

  • Strong customer facing skills

  • Strong oral and written communications skills - should be able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical folks succinctly

Bonus points if you have:
  • Prior experience using or administering Apache Airflow, Autosys, UC4, Temporal, Dagster, or Prefect

  • Proficiency in Python/Go.

  • Enterprise data experience with or in regulated environments

  • Experience with scripting/automation specifically infra (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)

  • 5+ years experience in a data engineering role or equivalent

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing role

  • Experience with ElasticSearch/Prometheus/Vault

Although this role is remote you need to be able to cover EST working hours and travel for customer and internal meetings.
The estimated total compensation for this role ranges from $175,000 - $240,000 based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package. This range is merely an estimate; actual compensation may deviate from this range based on skills, experience, and qualifications.
