Field-based clinical solutions engineer supporting sales of the SOPHiA GENETICS ecosystem. Uses hands-on clinical laboratory NGS expertise, assay implementation and validation knowledge, and CAP/CLIA experience to address customer concerns, explain adoption requirements, and build confidence in purchasing decisions. Partners with sales colleagues across a West Coast-to-Texas territory and travels for customer meetings, conferences, and events.
The summary above was generated by AI
Do you bring hands-on next-generation sequencing (NGS) experience and an understanding of clinical laboratory operations? Have you helped a clinical laboratory navigate CAP/CLIA requirements and bring a new assay into routine use? Do you want to utilise your technical and clinical knowledge within a commercialised environment?
If this sounds like you and you are driven by purpose, join the SOPHiA GENETICS NORAM Sales team as a Clinical Solutions Engineer and enable us to make a positive impact on the outcomes for cancer and rare disease patients worldwide.
This is a field-based role. You'll work from a home office or travel across your territory for customer meetings, conferences and events.
We're looking for someone based in the United States, in the region spanning the West Coast through Texas. In most instances, we look for individuals already living in-territory, but welcome those actively relocating to the area.
Our Mission
We believe there is a smarter, more data-driven way to make decisions in healthcare and our cloud-native AI powered SOPHiA DDM Platform makes that vision a reality on a daily basis. You will have direct input to our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for the ultimate benefit of cancer and rare disease patients across the globe.
Your Mission
You'll help clinical laboratories make informed decisions about purchasing the SOPHiA GENETICS ecosystem, drawing on your hands-on NGS experience and understanding of laboratory operations, assay implementation and CAP/CLIA requirements. Working alongside sales colleagues, you'll use that knowledge to understand customers' needs, address their concerns and explain what adoption would mean for their laboratory. Your role is to build confidence in the buying decision, not to carry out the implementation.
The value you add
  • Build credibility with laboratory teams by connecting to their clinical, technical and operational needs.
  • Help prospective customers assess what adoption would involve, using your knowledge of assay implementation, validation and the path to routine use.
  • Address buying concerns about CAP/CLIA requirements, documentation and implementation timelines with an understanding of how clinical laboratories work.
  • Partner with sales colleagues to answer technical and operational questions and help customers move towards a confident, informed buying decision.

Requirements
We know that every background is different, but to be best set for success we see you bringing:
  • Hands-on wet-lab experience with NGS workflows in a clinical laboratory.
  • An understanding of how clinical laboratories operate beyond the bench, including the steps needed to introduce and validate a new assay.
  • Substantial exposure to CAP/CLIA requirements and inspection processes, with enough involvement to explain their practical impact on laboratory work.
  • Experience of assay implementation or validation that helps you understand the challenges laboratories face before going live.
  • Willingness to travel for a customer-facing role.

You do not need to have held a customer-facing role, or previously worked as an SME or field applications specialist, but it is helpful. A desire to work in a commercialsed environment as part of a sales and solutions team is critical.
Benefits
You will be joining an organization with the patient at the heart of every decision and action, driven by purpose as we pursue exponential growth.
