The Business System Analyst - Oracle EBS/ Cloud Finance will join Motorola Solutions’ Enterprise Core Technology group, supporting the global Finance Organization.

This team drives the transformation, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of core financial systems across Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion Cloud. Working at the intersection of business strategy and technology, you will partner closely with Finance business leaders and IT counterparts to adopt industry best practices, simplify financial operations, and implement scalable digital solutions.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in key transformation initiatives and day-to-day operations—translating complex business needs into robust, configurable, and future-ready technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Perform a hybrid of functional (80%) and technical (20%) responsibilities across transformation programs and daily operations, including:

  • Requirement Engineering: Gather, analyze, and translate complex business requirements into clear, comprehensive functional specifications and design documentation.
  • Process Optimization & Fit/Gap Analysis: Conduct thorough fit/gap analyses across finance workflows to evaluate customization needs vs. standard capabilities; advocate for process standardization to minimize custom extensions.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with internal business users and lead external implementation vendors/partners to deliver user-centric solutions aligned with industry best practices.
  • System Diagnostics & Support: Investigate and debug complex system behaviors, articulate technical root causes to non-technical stakeholders, and deliver effective resolutions.
  • Agile Project Execution: Adapt to a fast-paced Agile environment, balancing priorities across multiple simultaneous projects, continuous enhancements, and operational tasks.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Overall Experience: 8+ years of professional experience in business systems analysis and IT consulting.
  • Leadership Experience: 4+ years of experience leading or directly managing a team.
  • Oracle Expertise: 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting Oracle R12 EBS or Oracle Fusion Cloud applications, with specific depth in financial processes within Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) modules.
  • Financial Domain Expertise: 4+ years of strong functional experience in supply chain-heavy financial accounting, including revenue recognition, customer billing, supplier invoicing, and Intercompany transactions tied to physical goods, subscriptions and bundled offers.

Preferred Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of key finance business processes and financial data structures.
  • Proven track record in driving business process simplification and Oracle standard adoption.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to bridge gaps between technical teams and executive business partners.
  • Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable operating with autonomy in a complex enterprise environment.

Target Base Salary Range: $135,000 USD - $145,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
