Description

At Tufin, we’re on a mission to simplify and automate network security for global enterprises. As a Business Development Representative, you’ll be the front line of that mission - sparking conversations, identifying opportunities, and driving the pipeline that powers our growth.

This seat is a launch pad. Account Executives carrying quota on our Americas team today started right here, and the path from BDR to full-cycle rep is a route we have run before. You’ll work from our Boston office three days a week - the coaching, and the pace of a floor that dials together, are what make that path real rather than a line in a job ad.

What You’ll Do:

  • Source new opportunities through inbound qualification and outbound prospecting
  • Build and run outbound campaigns (email, phone, LinkedIn) into target accounts, and consistently convert that activity into qualified appointments for your reps
  • Research and reach the right stakeholders inside complex organizations
  • Navigate objections live and find another way in when the front door is closed
  • Own a named territory and build the pipeline in it
  • Maintain clean, accurate prospect and account data in Salesforce
  • Work with Marketing and Sales to sharpen messaging and lift conversion

Where This Role Goes:

  • A defined path from BDR to full-cycle Account Executive. AEs on our team today came up through this seat
  • Weekly call coaching, pipeline reviews, and live deal exposure alongside the reps you support
  • Training in the full enterprise sales motion, not just the top of the funnel
  • 18–24 months of at-or-above-target performance is the realistic gate. We’d rather be straight with you than oversell the timeline
Requirements

Experience We’re Looking For..

  • 1–3 years of full-time professional experience. This isn’t a straight-out-of-undergrad role - we want people who’ve held a real job and know what showing up looks like
  • Sales experience is welcome but not required. Career changers do well here: recruiting, teaching, hospitality, customer service, and account management all translate
  • Software or SaaS exposure is a plus, as is familiarity with Salesforce or Outreach

Who You Are...

  • A true competitor.  What drives you is winning and being the best
  • Gritty and hungry
  • Creative and quick on your feet; you treat “no” as information, not a verdict
  • Driven by a long-term goal of becoming a full-cycle Account Executive, and patient enough to earn it
  • An exceptional verbal and written communicator
  • Self-motivated: responsible, accountable, and coachable
  • Curious about AI tools, with evidence you’ve already used them to work faster

Don’t worry if you don’t tick every box. Bring the hunger and the communication skills and we’ll teach the rest - that’s what this seat is for.

Location & Eligibility

  • Based in our Boston, MA office, three days per week in person
  • Must have the right to work in the US; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
