Introduction of Recruitment Department
The Global Ethics & Compliance (E&C) is an independent Business Partner function that reports up to the Global Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer and JPBU E&C is embedded in the Business Unit. E&C will respond rapidly to changing environment and business needs, it is close to the market, and encourages ethical behavior in line with Takeda's values. By working in an agile manner E&C ensures the balance between stable structures, governance, processes and systems, and dynamic approaches to delivering innovative solutions to appropriately manage our risks. E&C commits to act as a role model for Takeda's values, ethics and values-based decision making, fostering this mindset in clients, partners and team. E&C enables the organization to take decisions which are ethical and in line with our priorities of Patient, Trust, Reputation, and Business. E&C collaborates across all E&C teams and partner with stakeholders in Business Unit (BU) /Business Function (BF) to embed ethics and compliance as part of the way everyone works at Takeda.
Job Description
This role is expected to contribute:
  • To promote and disseminate Takeda's values and Global Code of Conduct in the responsible BU/BF.
  • Advise business community in the responsible BU/BF on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry codes and internal policies, etc. and ensure procedures are in place to meet those requirements in compliance with Takeda global policies.
  • Build and execute high impact training and communication plan implementing both global and local policies and procedures together with relevant team(s). Ensure all training is completed and adequate records maintained in the responsible BU/BF.
  • Work closely with relevant team(s) on implementation to BU/BF where applicable on Business Excellence, and Data and Digital.
  • Support the responsible BU/BF Heads to implement Takeda programs on Ethics and Compliance throughout each BU/BF and assist them in reviewing business programs such as speakers' events. Provide recommendations to the responsible BU/BF Heads on high risk business practices.
  • Work together with Monitoring/Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA) on conducting Global Monitoring program in the responsible BU/BF, where applicable; and provide counsel to the business on remediation of business process. Support the responsible BU/BF Heads to develop corrective action plans and track implementation status.
  • Conduct Compliance risk assessment together with Monitoring/CRA and other teams; provide information to the responsible BU/BF Heads on key risk areas along with recommendations on mitigating risks.
  • Assist Investigation Chief as necessary in reviewing allegations of misconduct in the responsible BU/BF and practices.
  • Efficiently accelerate the activity of Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (JPMA) /Fair Trade Council (FTC) and exert continuous influence to pharmaceutical industry.
  • Actively participate in meetings and committees representing E&C.
  • Actively participate in global projects and initiatives.
  • Plan and execute global strategies for the above activities in collaboration with global teams or by exercising leadership.
  • Support and advise on continuous improvement and efficiency of Takeda Japan's activities from E&C perspective.
  • Work closely to Global E&C (including Global E&C Leadership Team members) to represent JPBU E&C and other BU E&C communities to share concerns and practices through projects and on a daily basis.
  • Support team members to perform their tasks smoothly.

  • Knowledge and understanding for digital technology, data analytics and end-to-end Takeda processes and systems

< Educational background >
Bachelor's degree or LLM/JD/MBA/PhD degree or equivalent degree/license/certification
< Practical experience >
  • 10+ years at pharma (Corporate Strategy/Sales/MA/R&D/Legal/Public Affairs/E&C) or healthcare industry
  • Minimum 3 years' experience implementing programs on Ethics & Compliance
  • Knowledge of and experience with healthcare related laws, regulations and industry codes, etc.
  • Experience in people management and leadership is preferred
  • Experience working with industry associations and/or MHLW is preferred
  • International working experience is preferred

  • Attorney/Auditor/Pharmacist/CPA/CIA or equivalent qualifications

  • Actively liaise with Global E&C members in global projects in scope
  • Embed control points and remediations for easy Compliance applying data & digital
  • Work with Global E&C members.
  • Work closely with Launch Excellence
