Job Description

Role Summary

Vertex is seeking a Principal level Analyst in the AI Program Management team to lead the development and execution of enterprise AI capabilities that improve business processes, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver measurable value across the organization. This role will focus on AI products that support employees across the enterprise, including digital assistants, agentic orchestration of end-to-end business processes, and other intelligent workflow solutions.

Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and product leadership, this individual will define product requirements, shape scalable AI-driven capabilities, and lead the delivery of solutions that enable more connected, efficient, and intelligent ways of working.

The ideal candidate is a strategic product leader who excels at translating complex business needs into practical, scalable AI solutions. This person thrives in cross-functional environments and has a strong track record of bringing innovative enterprise capabilities from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and document requirements for AI-enabled products and agents.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable functional and technical requirements for engineering and technical teams
  • Support the design, development, and refinement of AI agents, intelligent automation, and workflow-based solutions
  • Collaborate with product leadership to help operationalize product strategy and align execution with business priorities.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, data, design, and business teams to ensure solutions meet user needs and business objectives
  • Develop clear documentation, user stories, process maps, and supporting materials to enable implementation and change management
  • Support backlog refinement, feature definition, acceptance criteria development, and delivery readiness activities
  • Assist with testing, validation, and rollout of AI capabilities to ensure quality, adoption, and business value
  • Monitor stakeholder feedback and usage trends to inform continuous improvement of capabilities and processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, process design, digital transformation, or related roles
  • Experience operating as an individual contributor within cross-functional product or technology teams
  • Proven ability to gather business requirements and translate them into detailed functional requirements or user stories
  • Experience supporting the development and implementation of AI, automation, digital workflow, or intelligent agent solutions
  • Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle and agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience in business process design, workflow mapping, and operational improvement
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft AI ecosystem, including platforms such as Azure AI, Copilot, Power Platform, and related enterprise AI services
  • Exposure to or hands-on experience with multiple large language models (LLMs) and providers (e.g., OpenAI models, Claude), including understanding of model selection, orchestration, and tradeoffs in an enterprise context
  • Familiarity with agent-based workflows, conversational AI, or automation platforms
  • Experience in life sciences, biotechnology, healthcare, or regulated environments
  • Knowledge of change management practices related to technology adoption
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams from concept through launch
  • Familiarity with product and process management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms

Pay Range:

$154,300 - $231,400

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
