Job Summary:
Join the Analytics Engineering team at Cat Digital and help shape the future of data-driven decision-making at Caterpillar. As a Data Engineer, you'll transform massive volumes of global equipment and transactional data into actionable insights using AWS, Airflow, and Snowflake. Be part of a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your work directly impacts Caterpillar's digital strategy.
What You Will Do:
  • Understand business needs and key decision criteria to inform data solutions.
  • Deploy and maintain Machine-Learning models and business logic in production environments.
  • Design and manage ETL pipelines to support seamless model execution and data availability.
  • Recommend optimal data structures and transformations to meet analytical goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, data-driven solutions.

What You Will Have:
  • Business Statistics: Working knowledge in SQL to support data manipulation and transformation for measurable insights.
  • Analytical Thinking: Working knowledge in Python and Airflow to enhance problem-solving and root cause analysis through data engineering and orchestration.
  • Query and Database Access Tools: Basic knowledge of structured data formats like JSON and XML to support efficient data extraction and formatting.
  • Requirements Analysis: Basic knowledge of Agile methodology to help define and implement system functionality aligned with business needs.
  • Machine Learning: Basic knowledge of AWS services like Sagemaker and Lambda to provide foundational tools for delivering machine learning solutions.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks to ensure precision and reliability in development workflows.

Considerations for Top Candidates:
  • Experience in the design or development of heavy equipment systems-such as automotive, aerospace, engines, transmissions, construction, mining, or industrial machinery.
  • Typically, a degree in Applied Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
  • Strong initiative, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams are essential.

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $142,200.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
