The Accounting Specialist – Financial Acctg supports accounting by performing the monthly accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, completing monthly account reconciliations and identifying and resolving gift card disputes and auditing rewards issued to members.

This position is also responsible to issue gift cards for member care as member satisfaction and for other internal departments as required.  Gift card dispute research includes identification of issues, issue resolution and process necessary journal entries. 

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day activities related to gift card disputes (retrieve daily dispute report from gift card portal and research transactions in Escape Web) and issuing gift cards (plastic and digital) as needed.
• Responsible for monthly close process including account reconciliations and related accounting for gift cards and rewards and other areas as needed.
• Audit 16 member's rewards earned/redeemed each month.
• Prepare weekly JE for deposits processed at the Club Support Center
• Prepare weekly Home Office Gift Card Log and JE to upload to SAP.
• Monitor activity in various GL accounts, clear balances as needed.
• Prepare a monthly JE for the credit dept to adjust sales and A/R.
• Prepare a monthly JE to allocate bad check payments received by third party.
• Adhoc projects
• Partner with other departments on projects to improve efficiency, accuracy, and implementation as needed.
• Assist in the tracking and reporting of Co-Brand rewards activity and other Co-Brand related accounting

• Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree Accounting or Finance major required.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience
• SAP experience is preferred.
• Excel skills; proficient on formulas, X-lookups, and Pivot Tables

This is a hybrid role. Tuesday through Thursday are in-office days at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA and Monday and Friday are remote days.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $56,500.00.
