Regional Sales Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEWReporting to the VP of North America Sales, the Regional Sales Manager will be part of a dynamic team that is selling the world’s premier eCommerce solution for monitoring what shoppers are viewing and buying online. Profitero is actively tracking more than 300 million products across 4,000 retailer websites. We provide product manufacturers insights on how their products are positioned online and recommendations on which areas to improve, leading to increased eCommerce sales, currently the fastest growing area of retail.
The RSM will sell Profitero’s SaaS-based Digital Shelf and Sales & Share estimation solutions to product manufacturers, specifically fast-moving CPG (consumer packaged goods) organizations. RSMs will be responsible for prospecting, developing, and driving new business sales in their territory and within their assigned named account target base. RSMs will also identify and qualify leads while consistently closing business on a monthly/quarterly basis in order to meet or exceed their annual sales quota. This role can be based in any major city, but does require up to 40% travel (typically 2-3 trips per month for 2-3-day duration each).
Ideal candidates will have the ability to consult with customers, identify requirements/uncover needs, and perform product demonstrations in easily understood terms while developing relationships with eCommerce decision makers and other influencers within each assigned target account.
RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Development of territory/target account sales strategy
- Achieve annual assigned sales target
- Management of the sales cycle from lead generation through close, including occasional post-close service
- Intensive business development, which will include targeted outreach via phone and e-mail
- Must have clear understanding of consultative sales process
- Delivery of sales orders through skilled lead identification/qualification and pipeline management
- Ability to confidently demonstrate the products and its value
- Keep in touch and build relationships with key contacts at target accounts
- Accurate and consistent logging of sales activity
- Provide prospects with formal proposals
- Build a pipeline of 3-4x of annual sales goal
- Work with Profitero partners to help develop pipeline and close business
- A minimum of 6 years of sales experience selling a technology or SaaS-based solution
- 2+ years of experience either working at a CPG company in a sales/eCommerce capacity and/or
- 2+ years of experience selling an eCommerce/analytics solution to CPG companies
- A proven track record of:
- Consistent quota attainment or overachievement
- Track record selling to CPG companies
- Experience closing larger deals, six-figure deals
- Excellent presentation and demonstration skills with a high degree of confidence
- Self-starter and highly motivated; ability to quickly “think on your feet”
- BA/BS
Highly competitive base plus very lucrative commission plan, including health, dental, 401k, etc.
Base salary will depend upon experience level.
