Mechanical Engineering Interns will support the development of SharkNinja home products through concepting, CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, data analysis, design reviews, feasibility studies, and technical documentation. Develop and test next-generation home products through concepting, CAD modeling, prototyping, design reviews, feasibility analysis, and performance validation. Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers across the product lifecycle. Apply mechanical engineering fundamentals, hands-on fabrication, electronics familiarity, data analysis, and technical problem-solving to improve product functionality, reliability, and manufacturability.

Develop and ship embedded firmware for consumer and home appliance products. Implement device-control features, OTA functionality, hardware abstraction layers, drivers, motor control, sensor and actuator integration, and power management. Build reference platform components, CI and test infrastructure, and maintain code quality and reproducible builds. Review partner code, debug firmware on target hardware, collaborate with hardware and systems teams, and support technical design reviews.

Designs and develops consumer products from concept through product support. Leads front-end mechanical design and feasibility for motorized consumer products. Owns roadmap ideation, builds proof-of-concept rigs, conducts lab testing and engineering studies, and communicates findings through sketches, CAD, models, and prototypes. Collaborates globally with engineering, product development, industrial design, brand, and testing teams. Coaches junior colleagues and drives multiple projects from technical hypothesis through validated solutions.

Leads global connected-device firmware architecture and delivery across wireless connectivity, embedded displays, companion apps, cloud integration, security, OTA updates, certification, and automated testing. Establishes portfolio-wide standards, governs internal and outsourced development, directs ODM/JDM partners, builds engineering capability, and owns schedule, quality, and scope for connected firmware programs.

Own wireless connectivity, provisioning, pairing, OTA updates, BLE GATT, Wi-Fi onboarding, cloud registration, and app integration. Implement reusable platform components and reference architectures across Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, Thread, and Matter. Maintain testing, CI, static analysis, build reproducibility, and interoperability infrastructure. Leads embedded firmware delivery, managing schedules, quality, scope, workload allocation, code reviews, technical direction, and team development. Oversees production firmware for device control, OTA, and product features while enforcing architecture, CI/CD, testing, static analysis, and code-quality standards. Partners with hardware, systems, quality, TPM, global firmware teams, and external development partners through integration, release readiness, and defect resolution.

Own and execute testing activities for physical consumer products, including creating test plans and protocols, defining pass/fail criteria, coordinating US and China-based resources, designing test fixtures, collecting and analyzing data, performing black-box testing, exploring test automation, documenting procedures, reporting results, and ordering testing materials and equipment.

Owns the 5-star product quality standard across new product development programs. Leads quality reviews, pre-production VEGA hack sessions, predictive modeling, testing plans, safety and certification delivery, and DFMEA readiness. Partners with Engineering, Product Development, Marketing, testing teams, and external labs to identify risks early, resolve issues, and ensure products are safe, compliant, consumer-validated, and launch-ready.
