This role: Quality Engineering Co-op, Shark
We are looking for a passionate Quality Engineering Co-op, Shark. The Product Development organization within SharkNinja drives our global product roadmap from concept to shelf through the constant lens of the consumer. We are the "product CEOs" and partner cross-functionally with almost every other team within the company to drive high satisfaction for our end user and to drive business results. We are comprised of individuals from a variety of professional and educational backgrounds, from product marketing managers to consumer-focused engineers - but we all have one thing in common: we're consistently striving to deliver a 5-star experience for every customer on every product we bring to market.
This unique role is part of our team dedicated to positively impacting consumers' lives worldwide. You'll contribute to enhancing and optimizing our existing product lines while playing a critical role in insights-driven new product development across the organization.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do:
  • Tear down consumer-returned units and perform failure analysis on mechanical and electrical failures. This is the majority of the role.
  • Analyze consumer complaints from call center data and web reviews using Power BI. You will find patterns, size issues, and track trends.
  • Recreate consumer-reported failures in the lab by running products for extended periods, with the goal of reproducing failures reliably.
  • Use what you learn from reproduced failures to help improve test methods for future programs.
  • Document findings and root cause in Jira tickets, using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Why, 8D, and fishbone diagrams.
  • Present findings clearly to PI, engineering, PD, and process quality partners and leaders.

ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, or a related engineering field, second year or beyond.
  • Hands-on mechanical or electrical aptitude (disassembly, use of hand tools, basic multimeter or measurement skills). Prior project, lab, or maker experience counts.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis (Excel required). Power BI or similar tools are a plus, and a willingness to learn is essential.
  • Comfort with, and patience for, repetitive lab work. Reproducing a failure often takes many hours of running a product.
  • Curiosity and structured thinking. Experience with 5 Why, 8D, fishbone, or other root-cause tools is a plus, but we will teach these.
  • Clear written communication, with careful and consistent documentation.
  • A "100% on" consumer-first perspective when it comes to introducing new products/processes or improving current products

Please note that, due to the high volume of applications for early talent roles, response times may vary depending on the specific role and timeline. Our team appreciates your patience!
