Summary of Position:

Scholar Rock is seeking a strategic, service-oriented, and collaborative Workplace Services Senior Manager to lead workplace strategy and day-to-day workplace operations for our site. This role will shape how space, services, and employee experience support the evolving needs of the business, with responsibility for strategic space planning, workplace utilization, occupancy planning, hospitality, facilities coordination, vendor performance, budgets, and site readiness.

The Workplace Services Senior Manager will lead and partner with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, translate workforce and growth plans into practical workplace solutions, and continuously improve the workplace to deliver a safe, flexible, efficient, and polished experience for employees, visitors, and senior leaders. This role is expected to be primarily on-site to maintain visibility, support daily operations, and ensure a high level of service across the workplace. Occasional schedule flexibility may be needed to support key meetings, workplace events, executive visits, or business initiatives.

Position Responsibilities

  • Strategic Space Planning & Workplace Strategy: Lead short- and long-range space planning based on headcount forecasts, business priorities, work patterns, and site capacity. Develop occupancy plans, seating strategies, neighborhood and shared-space concepts, and recommendations for assigned, flexible, and reservable workspaces. Monitor utilization and employee feedback, identify opportunities to improve space efficiency and experience, and coordinate test fits, furniture standards, moves, additions, changes, and phased implementation plans with internal partners and external consultants.
  • Workplace Operations & Experience:  Lead the daily workplace experience, ensuring office spaces, reception areas, meeting rooms, and shared amenities are consistently clean, organized, welcoming, and ready for use. Create a hospitality-forward environment that supports employees, guests, senior leaders, and business partners.
  • Vendor, Contract & Financial Management: Manage workplace vendors, contractors, service contracts, budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and spend tracking. Define performance expectations, review service quality and scope compliance, resolve recurring issues, support sourcing and contract decisions, and identify opportunities to improve value, consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Develop the workplace services team while building trusted relationships with senior leaders, employees, Facilities, Human Resources, IT, Finance, Procurement, EHS, building partners, and external providers. Communicate proactively regarding space plans, operational changes, service updates, events, workplace standards, and issue resolution.
  • Projects, Moves & Change Management: Lead or support workplace projects, including reconfigurations, renovations, furniture installations, relocations, department moves, growth or consolidation initiatives, and workplace technology changes. Develop schedules, responsibilities, communications, and transition plans that minimize disruption and support employee adoption.
  • Operational Excellence & Performance Management: Develop and maintain workplace standards, procedures, playbooks, service metrics, and reporting. Use workplace utilization, ticketing, budget, and employee feedback data to assess performance, identify trends, support recommendations, and drive continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in workplace services, facilities, corporate real estate, space planning, workplace strategy, office operations, hospitality, or a related environment, including experience leading teams or complex programs.
  • Demonstrated experience developing occupancy plans, seating strategies, space-utilization analyses, move plans, or workplace recommendations based on headcount and business requirements.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing teams through clear expectations, feedback, performance management, and day-to-day support.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, service contracts, budgets, purchase orders, projects, and workplace services spend.
  • Strong understanding of how space planning, facilities, hospitality, workplace technology, meetings and events, safety, and employee experience work together to support an effective workplace.
  • Excellent communication, organization, analytical thinking, prioritization, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs and data into practical workplace plans, manage multiple priorities, and adapt when requirements change.
  • Hands-on, visible leadership style with a strong service mindset, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to support occasional early morning, evening, or weekend meetings, events, moves, or business initiatives when planned business needs require it.
  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management, corporate real estate, architecture, business, hospitality, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting an executive-facing headquarters, biotechnology, life sciences, laboratory, or other regulated workplace environment.
  • Experience with workplace strategy, hybrid work programs, reservation-based seating, change management, test fits, furniture standards, or office design and construction projects.
  • Experience managing hard and soft facilities services in coordination with workplace experience and hospitality delivery.
