Workplace Services Manager 

  • Manage the day-to-day workplace experience and facilities operations for SmartBear’s Somerville office, ensuring a safe, efficient, well-maintained, and welcoming environment. 
  • Manage workplace services, vendors, contractors, office resources, facilities requests, and site operations while driving high and consistent service standards. 
  • Partner with the Director, Facilities and Real Estate and key stakeholders to improve workplace operations and deliver an excellent employee and visitor experience. 

About the Role 

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Somerville office, ensuring workplace and facilities services run effectively and acting as the primary point of contact for site-related needs and issues. 
  • Manage relationships with building management, contractors, suppliers, and service providers, including maintenance coordination, service delivery, issue resolution, and monitoring vendor performance. 
  • Oversee workplace operations including office supplies and equipment, inventory, meeting spaces, workspace allocation, workplace records, service logs, and overall site readiness. 
  • Support workplace health and safety initiatives and compliance requirements, proactively identifying potential risks, coordinating appropriate action, and maintaining relevant workplace documentation. 
  • Lead onsite workplace projects and activities, including office moves and space changes, employee events, catering, visitor experience, and workplace engagement initiatives. 
  • Partner with the Director, Facilities and Real Estate and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve service, processes, workplace standards, cost effectiveness, and the overall employee experience. 
  • Manage the day-to-day food and beverage experience for the Somerville office, including catering coordination, ordering, kitchen supplies, and regular snack and beverage replenishment, ensuring appropriate stock levels and a consistently positive employee experience.  

We are looking for you if you have 

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in workplace services, facilities management, office operations,  or a similar environment, with demonstrated ownership of day-to-day workplace operations. 
  • Experience managing external suppliers, contractors, and service providers, with the ability to set expectations, monitor service quality, and resolve operational issues. 
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to independently prioritize planned work, competing requests, and unexpected workplace needs. 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with a proactive and customer-focused approach to supporting employees, visitors, leaders, and external partners. 
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills, along with an understanding of workplace health and safety practices and operational compliance. 
  • The ability to work independently in a hands-on, office-based role, take ownership of outcomes, and influence across teams without direct people-management responsibility.

Your SmartBear total rewards compensation package includes base salary and may also include a performance bonus plan. The base salary range for this role is listed below. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location.
