About the Role:

Cyderes is seeking a hands-on Vulnerability Management Manager to lead a small, high-performing vulnerability management team while remaining closely connected to the technical work.

This role is ideal for someone who is both a strong people leader and experienced vulnerability management technologist. The successful candidate will manage and mentor a team of four, support client delivery, help resolve technical and operational challenges, and take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities that allow senior leadership to focus on broader strategic initiatives.
The Vulnerability Management Manager will report directly to Andrew and serve as a trusted leader across the vulnerability and exposure management function.

Responsibilities

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 4 vulnerability management professionals.
    • Conduct regular weekly check-ins with team members to discuss workload, development, client challenges, and technical issues.
    • Provide day-to-day coaching and guidance to help the team navigate complex vulnerability management situations.
    • Manage administrative responsibilities including timesheet review and approvals.
    • Help prioritize workloads and ensure the team is operating efficiently across multiple client engagements.
    • Serve as an escalation point for both technical and client-facing challenges.
    • Build a positive, accountable team culture focused on development, collaboration, and strong client delivery.
    • Vulnerability & Exposure Management
      • Lead vulnerability management activities across client environments, including vulnerability identification, prioritization, remediation tracking, and validation.
      • Guide the team in determining which vulnerabilities present the greatest real-world risk based on severity, exploitability, asset criticality, exposure, and business impact.
      • Help clients move beyond simply identifying vulnerabilities by supporting the remediation process through closure.
      • Track critical and aging vulnerabilities and ensure appropriate escalation and remediation plans are in place.
      • Support Attack Surface Management and Exposure Management initiatives across client environments.
      • Work closely with client infrastructure, cloud, security, application, and operations teams to drive vulnerability remediation.
      • Ensure vulnerabilities are retested and validated following remediation.

Requirements

    • Tenable / Tenable.io / Tenable Vulnerability Management
    • CrowdStrike
    • Vulnerability Management

      • Develop strong relationships with Cyderes customers and act as a trusted vulnerability management advisor.
      • Participate in client meetings, reviews, and escalations.
      • Clearly communicate vulnerability findings, remediation priorities, trends, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Help customers understand not only what is vulnerable, but what needs to be fixed first and why.
      • Ensure consistent service delivery and strong customer experience across the team's accounts.
      • Support senior leadership by taking ownership of operational and client-related issues that would otherwise require escalation.

Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
