VP Strategic Initiatives - Chief Business Office, Global Technology Services
Why this role is important to us
The Chief Business Office oversees business operations across State Street Global Technology Services (GTS). This VP role sits within the strategy team, reporting directly to the Head of Strategy (MD level). The key priority for the team will be to establish strategy framework, drive the strategic planning process for GTS, track execution of technology strategy, communicate the benefit and impact of technology investment, and offer key insights to the senior leadership team on the execution of the overall strategic initiatives of the portfolio.
What you will be responsible for
The ideal candidate will have a combination of both technical and operational understanding:
- Assist in the development of the business unit strategy on both a multi-year and periodic basis in support of the company’s individual business unit’s long-term strategic plans including those related to products and services
- Monitor progress of the technology portfolio to assess strategic progress against our 3-year plan, including the tracking of operational objectives (OKRs) and performance to identify risks to annual execution plan
- Support the drive to a standard operating model of developing strategy across the various functional units within GTS
- Key lead in driving the production of analytical insights to the GTS Leadership on a regular basis on the health of execution against the defined strategy
- Support the Head of Strategy to drive communication and engagement with the most senior executives in GTS
- Provide consultancy services to help improve the articulation and communication of our strategic plans with the wider stakeholder areas both external and internal to technology
- Engage with business unit COO functions to ensure alignment on Technology and Operations strategic vision
- Serving as a Subject Matter Expert on strategic plan updates and formal communication on the progress of its execution

Education & Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years' experience driving and shaping business execution and strategies
- Proven people leadership skills and comfort in interacting with senior executives on a frequent basis
- Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office, suite of applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Related experience within the financial services industry
- Consulting experience within software, technology, and /or IT
- Project management and change management experience
- Experience working with PowerBI
Salary Range:
$115,000 - $190,000 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the location above, the applicable range could differ.
