The Health Catalyst Interoperability team is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the operations of our Health Information Exchange (HIE) technology and services. This role is critical in driving interoperability by leveraging industry standards (HL7, FHIR) and integrating multiple data sources into consolidated, actionable data.

This position is central to our mission of delivering high-quality, reusable, and sustainable healthcare data solutions that improve quality outcomes, enhance analytical efficiency, and empower organizations with expert-driven content.

The Vice President of Interop Operations will lead a team responsible for implementing and managing Health Catalyst’s HIE products and services. This leader will work closely with Client Engagement Leads/Strategic Account Executives, product development teams, and other key stakeholders to optimize deployment processes and ensure seamless execution. Additionally, they will play a strategic role in aligning implementation with growth initiatives, contract execution, and financial performance.

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven leader dedicated to delighting clients and ensuring the seamless and efficient implementation of our Health Information Exchange solutions.

What you'll own in this role:

Implementation and Operations Leadership 

  • Oversee end-to-end deployments of Health Catalyst’s Interoperability technology and services, ensuring on-time, on-budget, high-quality implementations. 
  • Ensure client satisfaction throughout the deployment process, driving engagement and responsiveness. 
  • Develop and implement standardized and repeatable implementation methodologies. 
  • Align departmental goals with company-wide objectives to ensure seamless service delivery and measurable outcomes. 

Process Optimization and Resource Management 

  • Optimize resource allocation and staffing to ensure successful client deployments while maintaining profitability. 

  • Monitor implementation costs, client contracts, and key milestones to ensure alignment with both financial and operational expectations. 

  • Establish and enforce change management controls for modifications to scope, timeline, or pricing. 

  • Lead cross-functional teams in defining performance standards, policies, and best practices for continuous improvement. 

  • Manage the career growth and day-to-day performance of the Interoperability delivery team to include project management. 

Client and Stakeholder Engagement  

  • Track and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain high client satisfaction and service quality. 

  • Partner with Finance to develop revenue and cash flow forecasts that align with corporate financial goals. 

  • Collaborate with Product Development to prioritize feature enhancements and bug fixes based on client needs. 

  • Work closely with Strategic Account Executives and the Solutioning and Growth team to ensure contracts contain realistic, profitable deliverables and timelines. 

Vendor and Legacy Product Management  

  • Develop and execute strategies for the retirement of legacy products (e.g., HISP, Medicity CHR, Nexus V3, Explore Datamart). 

  • Establish and maintain key vendor relationships to improve operational efficiency and ensure quality service delivery. 

  • Manage vendor negotiations and performance to ensure alignment with company goals and contractual standards. 

What you bring to this role:

  • Executive-level interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. 

  • Proven experience in healthcare operations, interoperability, and technology-driven service delivery. 

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, bridging communication between technology, clinical, and administrative stakeholders. 

  • Expertise in agile program management, clinical best practices, and process optimization. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen focus on continuous improvement. 

  • Experience in facilitating executive discussions and conflict resolution. 

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate dynamic environments and drive strategic initiatives. 

  • 3+ years of project management experience. 

  • 3+ years of technical management experience. 

 

Desired Skills 

  • Healthcare industry expertise with a strong understanding of interoperability and data exchange. 

  • Experience with project management tools and processes and agile methodologies. 

  • 1+ years’ experience effectively communicating at the executive level (highly preferred). 

 

Preferred Education & Relevant Experience

  • BS/BA in technology, business, or healthcare-related degree.
  • Five+ years experience in healthcare/technology-related field
  • Training in the Toyota Production System, LEAN, Six Sigma, Project Management, or other Process Improvement Skills is desirable.
