American farmers have made tremendous technology advancements through hardware improvements and investments in precision agriculture. However, when it comes to the back-office, most farms are decades behind, relying on spreadsheets, filing cabinets, and decades-old on-prem software to recruit, manage, and pay their workforce. Seso is addressing this problem by modernizing the back-office for the farm.

Our mission is to build the premier platform for agribusiness to hire and manage their workforce and improve the lives of agricultural workers. We are addressing American farmers’ biggest pain point - access to qualified labor - through a software-enabled labor solution that automates the H-2A visa. Our  comprehensive HR platform streamlines and automates the hiring process for farms and  seamlessly integrates their efforts across recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and insurance while providing workers access to financial services for the first time.

Seso has raised over $60M from Tier I investors including Index, Founders Fund, and Mary Meeker at Bond, and has been recognized with awards including Forbes Rising Stars and Andreessen Horowitz's American Dynamism 50.

Our ideal candidate is located in San Francisco or New York City and able to work hybrid remote (2-3 days a week in office) but we are open to considering any US based candidate for this role.

About the Role
Seso is looking for a VP of Marketing with deep expertise in Growth Marketing to own and accelerate our marketing engine. You will be responsible for building and scaling programs that directly drive pipeline and revenue growth, while also strengthening Seso’s brand presence in the agriculture industry.

This is a highly strategic and hands-on role. You’ll lead a lean, talented team while rolling up your sleeves to execute campaigns, measure impact, and optimize continuously. The ideal candidate has proven success scaling demand generation at a high-growth B2B SaaS company and thrives at the intersection of growth, brand, and go-to-market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Growth & Performance Marketing – Build and execute scalable demand generation programs across paid and organic channels, ABM, email, and events. Own paid media strategy and budget, optimizing for CAC, ROI, and pipeline growth.
  • Advocacy Marketing – Build programs that deepen engagement and retention, highlight customer success through case studies and advocacy, and partner with Customer Success to drive renewals and expansion.
  • Product Marketing – Own messaging, positioning, and customer insights, ensuring new products, solutions, and campaigns are successfully launched and monetized
  • Brand, Messaging & Insights – Own and evolve Seso’s holistic brand narrative, refining positioning and storytelling to resonate across customers, partners, and the broader agriculture ecosystem. Stay close to customer needs and market trends to ensure Seso is consistently positioned as the category leader.
  • Go-to-Market Leadership – Partner with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to launch products, develop playbooks, and drive adoption.
  • Team Leadership – Manage and grow a small but impactful team (Brand Designer, Events Manager, and Head of Product Marketing), setting vision while staying hands-on where needed.
  • Field & Partner Marketing – Develop co-marketing initiatives with partners, drive event strategy, and equip the sales team with tools to close deals faster.
  • Analytics & Optimization – Define KPIs, measure performance, and iterate on strategies to ensure marketing is a revenue engine.

About You:

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role (Head of Marketing) at a high-growth B2B SaaS company
  • Proven track record of owning demand generation and growth marketing building programs that deliver measurable pipeline and revenue.
  • Strong operator in performance marketing, marketing automation, and sales/marketing alignment
  • Experienced storyteller with the ability to sharpen positioning for a category-creating company
  • Skilled leader who can inspire and mentor a small team while staying deeply hands-on
  • Comfortable with marketing tech stack: HubSpot, Salesforce, paid media platforms, analytics tools
  • Vertical SaaS or industry experience (agriculture, labor, or related fields) is a strong plus
  • Analytical and experimental mindset: you test, measure, and optimize relentlessly

Compensation range: $230,000 - $275,000 (base + bonus). Actual pay will depend on your experience, skills, and internal equity. The range shown is a good-faith estimate, but we’re open to a variety of profiles, so the final offer may be higher or lower depending on your background.

Our salary range reflects competitive pay for our size, industry, and location. Compensation is just one part of our total rewards, which also include benefits and stock options.

Diversity is more than a commitment at Seso, it is the foundation of what we do. We pride ourselves on building the premier platform that serves agribusiness and improves the lives of agricultural workers. We believe in diversity of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, ethnicity, national origin and all the other fascinating characteristics that make us all feel welcome.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
