DuckDuckGo is seeking a VP, Legal to serve as the company’s senior legal leader and strategic advisor. As a key member of the executive team, this role oversees all legal matters across DuckDuckGo’s expanding product portfolio, complex regulatory landscape, and critical commercial relationships.

The VP, Legal will lead and develop the legal team while directly managing DuckDuckGo’s most significant legal issues, including high-stakes regulatory and competition proceedings and complex commercial agreements. This executive will work closely with the policy team, providing legal counsel on regulatory and legislative strategy, and partner with Product, Engineering, and Security on the legal implications of AI features, new product launches, and data practices.

Responsibilities include directing global privacy compliance, guiding legal strategy in regulatory and competition matters, managing legal operations infrastructure, and advising on corporate governance, employment, IP, and strategic transactions. The role requires a seasoned attorney with deep expertise in privacy/data protection, technology platform regulation, or antitrust/competition law, and a proven ability to advise executives, manage significant litigation, and lead legal teams across jurisdictions.
