The VP, Infrastructure and Operations leads Trace3’s Infrastructure and Operations practice and partners closely with business units, account teams, consulting teams, delivery teams, and technology partners to build, launch, and scale this new practice. This role spearheads the development and advancement of infrastructure offerings across networking, cloud, hybrid cloud, observability, infrastructure operations, AI Operations, managed services, resilience, and platform modernization. The VP, Infrastructure and Operations oversees the structure and deployment of presales consulting resources and supports client-facing activities such as assessments, requirements gathering, proof-of-concept efforts, technical workshops, operational roadmaps, and successful handoffs to engagement delivery teams. This role analyzes client environments, understands each client’s business and technology landscape, defines requirements, and delivers innovative infrastructure strategies that improve availability, performance, scalability, operational efficiency, and business resiliency. The role is accountable for attaining the Infrastructure and Operations practice’s financial goals and driving year-over-year revenue and gross profit growth through disciplined planning, forecasting, pipeline development, partner alignment, and execution. The position also maintains an ongoing focus on AI-enabled operations, automation, observability, and emerging technologies as they relate to selling and delivering differentiated infrastructure solutions.


SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Identify, develop, and evolve a comprehensive go-to-market strategy that drives growth across infrastructure and operations products, services, and solutions.
  • Build and scale Trace3’s new Infrastructure and Operations practice, including operating model, solution portfolio, partner ecosystem, sales enablement, delivery alignment, and market positioning.
  • Establish strategic and financial team goals, develop execution plans, and ensure progress against agreed-upon objectives.
  • Own and drive achievement of Infrastructure and Operations practice revenue and gross profit targets, including year-over-year growth objectives, through effective business planning, sales execution, pipeline management, and practice performance oversight.
  • Develop and advance solution plays across networking, cloud, hybrid cloud, observability, infrastructure operations, AI Operations, managed services, resiliency, automation, and platform modernization.
  • Develop and advance AI-enabled infrastructure and operations initiatives that strengthen client outcomes, expand market relevance, and support the sale of modern operational solutions.
  • Oversee presales efforts from conception to completion, with an emphasis on technical soundness, business value, architectural fit, and resource efficiency.
  • Lead the transformation toward selling more strategic, complex, multi-year infrastructure and operations engagements.
  • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction throughout the full engagement lifecycle by delivering the Trace3 “Total Customer Experience.”
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with technical leaders within client organizations.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members while supporting their professional growth and development.
  • Partner with account teams and consulting teams to deliver and present industry-leading programs and services to clients.
  • Lead infrastructure partner management and direct the activities and performance of the practice’s directors and leaders.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key technology partners across networking, cloud, data center, observability, automation, and managed services ecosystems.
  • Advise, consult, and make recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team regarding strategy and long-range planning.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Minimum of 10 years of services-led IT infrastructure, cloud, hybrid cloud, networking, managed services, or complex solution sales experience, including hardware, software, and services offerings.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
  • Experience working for a technology or consulting company, including prior experience developing strategic business plans and launching or scaling technology practices.
  • Management experience in a team-oriented environment, with strong interpersonal, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Excellent understanding of enterprise business environments and the operational challenges facing IT organizations.
  • Strong understanding of how clients use infrastructure, cloud, hybrid cloud, networking, and observability and AI technologies to meet business objectives.
  • Deep knowledge of modern infrastructure domains, including enterprise networking, data center modernization, public cloud, private cloud, hybrid cloud, infrastructure automation, operational resilience, observability, monitoring, and performance management.
  • Knowledge of AI trends, AI-enabled operations, automation, AIOps, and emerging use cases that can be translated into client-facing infrastructure strategies and sales opportunities.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, with an understanding of multifaceted business operations.
  • Proven expertise in developing and delivering accurate, timely weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage practice-level financial performance, including revenue growth, gross profit contribution, forecasting accuracy, and annual operating plans.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment.
  • Ability to respond to client and sales team requests in a proactive, consultative manner by listening effectively, understanding needs, and delivering appropriate solutions.
  • Comfortable managing multiple and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to C-level executives and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to travel as required.
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
