Third Wave Business Systems, a portfolio company of Pine, is currently seeking a strategic and experienced VP of Finance to join their leadership team.

What We Do

Third Wave Business Systems is an ERP and technology services firm that helps mid-market manufacturing and distribution businesses select, implement, and support the systems they run on, including Acumatica, SAP Business One, and SYSPRO. Its consultants, sales, and support teams partner with clients for the long term.

Who We Are

Third Wave is part of Pine Services Group, a long-term, buy-and-hold company within Evergreen Services Group. Pine partners with B2B ERP and technology services firms for the long run, giving each company the resources of a larger organization while preserving the culture and client relationships that made it successful.

Who We Need

Third Wave is seeking a VP of Finance to lead its finance and accounting function and serve as a key member of the leadership team. This person will own consolidation and reporting for a growing, multi-entity business, then spend most of the month turning the numbers into insight for leaders. They will lead a team of two Accounting Managers and work closely with the Pine finance team. The ideal candidate pairs a strong accounting foundation with sharp FP&A skills and is energized by building structure.

What You'll Do

    • Lead and develop a finance and accounting team, including two Accounting Managers who each own the close for a business unit

    • Own consolidation and below-the-line accounting for a multi-entity, private equity-backed business

    • Review each business unit's close to ensure the numbers are accurate and make sense

    • Lead FP&A, including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis that informs strategic decisions

    • Build dashboards and reporting for three GM-level P&L owners and across two historical business units

    • Architect reporting structures in Acumatica, partnering with the internal Acumatica team

    • Present monthly results for Third Wave leadership and Pine, with clear commentary on what is driving performance

    • Partner with the Pine finance team on KPIs, reporting, and analysis

    • Bring an informed point of view on where the business model is strong, where it can improve, and how

    • Shape the future state of the finance organization as the business grows

What We're Looking For

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

    • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including people leadership

    • Strong accounting foundation, such as audit, controllership, or a CPA

    • Hands-on FP&A or full P&L visibility in an operating business

    • Experience with multi-entity consolidation and month-end close oversight

    • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills

    • Comfort building structure and processes in a growing, evolving business

    • Humble, curious, and able to translate between big-company rigor and small-business realities

    • Confident, clear communicator with leadership teams and investors

Nice-to-Have

    • CPA

    • Experience in a private equity-backed or holding company environment

    • Background in professional services, software resale, or ERP/technology services

    • Acumatica or other mid-market ERP experience

    • Experience with post-acquisition integration

What we Offer

    • Competitive base salary plus an annual bonus tied to company performance

    • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, plus a 401(k) match

    • Paid time off and company holidays

    • Fully remote work with the tools and support to do your job well

    • Real ownership of the books for a growing business unit, with direct access to finance leadership

    • Hands-on exposure to Acumatica, working alongside the consultants who implement it

    • The stability of a long-term, buy-and-hold owner, with room to grow your career as Third Wave and Pine expand
