Description of Work

You must apply by 11:59 PM prior to the posted closing date.The Environmental Analysis Unit supports development of sustainable transportation infrastructure that minimizes impact on the human and natural environment. We are looking for an Engineer I for our Visualization Group within the Public Involvement, Community Studies, and Visualization team.
In this role you will:
•Perform engineering work supporting engineers for transportation visualization projects, including developing and/or reviewing 3D models, renderings, and technical plans.
•Apply engineering principles to ensure accuracy, compliance with standards, and adherence to codes and regulations.
•Support senior engineers with technical tasks, documentation, and project coordination.
•Participate in UAS (drone) flights for image and video acquisition to support visualization needs.
•Assist the team in leveraging visualization tools to advance project development and design and translating technical plans into helpful visualizations that can be easily understood by the public.
The preferred applicant for this position must have experience with Twinmotion, Unreal Engine, and AutoDesk 3D Max.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC16 $57,983.00-$101,470.00
Management prefers applicants with the following:
- Knowledge of design visualization principles for transportation, architecture, and engineering.
- Experience applying engineering principles and assisting with preparation and review of transportation plans.
- Experience utilizing visualization tools (Autodesk 3D Max, Photoshop, Twinmotion, Unreal Engine, and Illustrator) and CADD software (MicroStation, ORD).
- Experience effectively communicating technical information in writing and via presentations to varied audiences.
- Experience working in a TEAM setting, fostering communication and promoting teamwork.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Special Requirements
May require registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors.
