We are seeking a Visual Design Intern to join our team. This is a part-time opportunity in our Waltham, MA office. 

Job Summary

The Visual Design Intern will support the Creative team by assisting in the creation of digital and print marketing materials while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced corporate environment. They will work alongside experienced designers and cross-functional teams, learn design best practices, contribute to creative projects, and help maintain brand consistency across multiple channels.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating graphics for various digital and print campaigns, social media, presentations, and events.
  • Support the design team in developing design concepts, mock-ups, presentations, and production-ready assets.
  • Apply established Imprivata brand guidelines across marketing materials.
  • Assist with organizing design files and maintaining the creative asset library.
  • Learn about design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices, and contribute to innovative design solutions.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while developing time management and project coordination skills.
  • Learn creative workflows and incorporate feedback into revisions.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.

Qualifcations

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field. Rising seniors and graduate students are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), familiarity with Figma is a plus.
  • Video production software (Adobe Premiere) a plus.
  • Familiarity with business applications such as Microsoft 365.
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of design projects, coursework, personal projects, freelance work, or internship experience demonstrating creativity and design fundamentals.
  • Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
  • Excellent creativity and artistic skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts and gather feedback.
  • Ability to take feedback and iterate on designs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a willingness to learn how to balance multiple assignments and deadlines.

This position offers an hourly range of $24.00 to $25.00. In addition, more information about Imprivata’s benefit offerings can be found here. This range represents the high and low end of Imprivata’s compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, such as a candidate’s location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
