The Role

Fidelity Institutional’s mission is to help intermediary and institutional clients cut through complexity and achieve better outcomes. The Wealth Advisory Managed Solutions (WAMS) team plays a key role in this mission through developing and delivering customized investment solutions, industry-leading managed platforms, and investment capabilities. This team drives critical growth initiatives for Fidelity, FI and IWMS.

The Vice President, WAMS Performance Lead will drive the development and oversight of advisory and discretionary managed solutions performance and client reporting capabilities, with the following core responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary business product owner for wealth advisory managed solutions performance and client experience capabilities.

  • Establish and drive execution of the  performance and client reporting product vision, business requirements, and capability roadmap across discretionary and non-discretionary solutions for intermediary clients (equity, fixed income, multi-asset class).  Oversee multiple projects and initiatives concurrently, identifying and managing dependencies.

  • Partner with product, investment, performance measurement, distribution, technology and other key stakeholders to drive requirements definition and technical implementation of product performance, analytics and overall client product experience. 

  • Act as the primary performance and client reporting liaison to business and technology stakeholders on an ongoing basis; influencing and advocating for the prioritization of the performance and client reporting roadmap given business and enterprise needs.

  • Anticipate and stay current with evolving market, regulatory and consumer demands to identify competitive differentiators, influence strategic planning and client experience design.  

  • Provide business support and oversight of the recurring creation/publication of performance artifacts at the account and composite levels.

  • Define and manage performance reporting policies, methodologies, process, and client experience.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree required.  CIPM or CFA preferred

  • Fifteen plus (15) years of progressive financial services experience, preferably in performance analysis, client reporting/experience, or product management roles

  • Demonstrated expertise in investment performance analysis, business analysis, project management or process improvement

  • Track record leading teams in supporting internal and external clients with their data and reporting needs

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to understand and resolve complex problems

  • Understanding of accounting and investment performance reporting. Understanding of modern portfolio theory and related concepts of risk and return a plus

  • Understanding of metrics used to evaluate portfolio construction (e.g., yield, spread, active weights, concentrations) a plus

  • Knowledge of managed accounts, model portfolios and separately managed accounts (SMA) processes, data and industry practices a plus

  • Proficiency and understanding of performance related industry standards, Investment Advisor Marketing rule, and regulatory compliance requirements

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly, concisely and persuasively present sophisticated proposals, issues and arguments, both in writing and verbally

  • Project Management skills required to successfully drive projects across the company and run critical dependencies. Knowledge of agile working models is preferred

  • Work collaboratively across the Fidelity Enterprise and possess strong influence management skills while maintaining productive long-term working relationships

This role will report to the VP of Investment Services in FIWA.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000-258,000 USD per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
