We are seeking a Vice President of Total Rewards to lead the design, development, and execution of our global compensation, benefits, and recognition programs. This role will be instrumental in shaping our employee value proposition and ensuring our Total Rewards activities supports our business strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Total Rewards philosophy aligned with our business strategy and global workforce needs.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CHRO, CEO, CFO, CLO and the Board on compensation, benefits, and recognition trends and best practices.
  • Partner closely with the CHRO to design and deliver executive level compensation aligned with our Board Compensation Committee.
  • Oversee global compensation programs including executive compensation, base pay, incentive plans, sales compensation plans, and equity awards.
  • Enable Novanta’s expat / international mobility talent needs through effective compensation strategies, programs and vendor enablement.
  • Lead benefits strategy including health, wellness, retirement, and leave programs across multiple countries.
  • Ensure competitive benchmarking and market analysis to maintain equitable and attractive offerings.
  • Lead Total Rewards operations including vendor management, systems integration, and process optimization.
  • Leverage data analytics to assess program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with regional HR leaders to tailor programs to local markets while maintaining global consistency.
  • Support M&A activity with due diligence and integration planning for Total Rewards programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, GDPR, local labor laws).
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, and HR teams to manage risk and governance related to Total Rewards.

Required Experience, Education, Skills and Competencies

  • 15+ years of progressive HR experience with deep expertise in global compensation and benefits.
  • Experience in a publicly traded Company including equity compensation and Board interface.
  • Proven success leading Total Rewards strategy in a mid-to-large size organization, 2B+.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong technology capabilities, preferably within the Workday platform.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
  • CCP, CEBS, or similar certification a plus.
  • Ability to meet ITAR Compliance employment requirements as Novanta produces export-controlled technologies.

The compensation range for this job is USD $263,500 to $421,600. The compensation is comprised of a mix of base salary, short-term incentive bonus based on performance and Long Term-Incentives. In addition, Novanta supports your life's needs through an extensive offering of benefits.
